You can have three years when there will not be enough food in the land. You can have three months when your enemies will sweep you away. They will catch up with you. They will destroy you with their swords. Or you can have three days when the sword of the Lord will punish you. That means there would be three days of plague in the land. My angel would strike down people in every part of Israel.’ So take your pick. Tell me how to answer the one who sent me.”

大衛在位的日子，有連續三年的饑荒；大衛就尋求耶和華的面。耶和華說：“這是因為掃羅和掃羅家流人血的罪，因為他曾經殺死了基遍人。”

那些死於刀下的比餓死的還好；餓死的因缺乏田間的出產，就日漸消瘦而死亡。

“但是，如果你不聽從耶和華你神的話，不謹守遵行我今日吩咐你的一切誡命和律例，以下這一切咒詛就必臨到你身上，把你趕上。

因為耶和華要走遍各處擊打埃及人；他一看見門楣和兩邊的門柱上有血，就越過那門，不讓那毀滅者進入你們的房屋來擊殺你們。

使刀劍臨到你們，報復背約的仇；聚集你們到城裡，好使我打發瘟疫在你們中間，把你們交在仇敵的手裡。我斷絕你們的糧食來源（“我斷絕你們的糧食來源”直譯是“我要折斷你們糧食的杖”）以後，十個女人要共用一個爐子給你們烤餅，她們配給定量的餅給你們；你們要吃，卻吃不飽。“如果你們經過這事，還是不聽從我，行事仍與我的心意相違，我就必發烈怒，與你們作對；我要按著你們的罪，再加重七倍管教你們。你們要吃自己兒子的肉，女兒的肉也要吃。

耶和華必用癆病、熱病、炎症、瘧疾、乾旱、旱風和霉爛打擊你；它們必追趕你，直到你滅亡。

那天晚上，耶和華的使者出去，在亞述軍營殺了十八萬五千人。早上，他們起來的時候，看哪，到處都是死屍。

以利沙告訴那婦人（她的兒子曾被以利沙救活），說：“你和你全家要動身，離開這裡，住在你可以寄居的地方，因為耶和華宣布了將有饑荒，這饑荒要臨到這地七年。”

我對你們說實話，當以利亞的時候，三年六個月不下雨（“不下雨”原文作“天閉塞”），遍地大起饑荒，那時以色列中有許多寡婦，

神差派一位使者到耶路撒冷去，要毀滅那城；正要施行毀滅的時候，耶和華看見了，就後悔所要降的這災，於是對施行毀滅的天使說：“夠了！住手吧！”那時，耶和華的使者正站在耶布斯人阿珥楠的禾場附近。大衛舉目看見耶和華的使者站在天地之間，手裡拿著出了鞘的刀，指向耶路撒冷。大衛和眾長老都穿上麻布，臉伏於地。

於是迦得來見大衛，問他說：“你要國中三年（按照《馬索拉文本》，“三年”作“七年”；現參照《七十士譯本》翻譯；參代上21:12）的饑荒呢？或是要在你敵人面前逃跑，被追趕三個月呢？或是要國中有三天的瘟疫呢？現在你要想想，決定我該用甚麼話回覆那差我來的。”大衛對迦得說：“我非常為難，我們情願落在耶和華的手裡，因為他有豐盛的憐憫。不要讓我落在人的手裡。”

耶和華必使你在仇敵面前被擊敗；你從一條路出去攻擊他們，必在他們面前從七條路逃跑；你必成為天下萬國驚駭的對象。

他不歸榮耀給神，所以主的使者立刻擊打他，他被蟲咬，就斷了氣。

耶和華的刀劍哪，你要到幾時才可停下來呢？請你入鞘吧！休息靜止吧！

他們必吞吃你牲畜所生的和你土地所產的，直到把你消滅；必不給你留下五穀、新酒和油、幼小的牛，以及肥嫩的羊，直到使你滅亡為止。他們必把你圍困在你的各城裡，直到在你的全境內你所倚靠高大和堅固的城牆都被攻陷；他們必把你圍困在耶和華你的神賜給你的全地的各城裡。

這事以後，我看見四位天使站在地的四極，掌握著地上的四風，不使風吹在地上、海上和任何樹上。我又看見另外一位天使，從日出之地上來，拿著永活神的印，向那四位得了權柄可以傷害地和海的天使，大聲呼喊，說：“你們不要傷害地、海和樹木，等我們在神眾僕人的額上先蓋上了印。”

你們懼怕的刀劍必在埃及地追上你們；你們恐懼的饑荒必在埃及緊隨著你們；你們必死在那裡。

至於你們剩下的人，我必使他們在仇敵之地膽戰心驚；風吹落葉也會嚇跑他們；他們必逃跑，好像逃避刀劍一樣；雖然無人追趕，他們卻跌倒。雖然無人追趕，他們卻像面臨刀劍，彼此撞跌；你們在仇敵面前，不能站立得住。

提斯比人以利亞，就是從基列的提斯比來的（按照《馬索拉文本》，“從基列的提斯比來的”作“基列的寄居者”;現參照《七十士譯本》翻譯）先知，對亞哈說：“我指著我所事奉永活的耶和華以色列的神起誓，這幾年若是沒有我的命令，天必不降露，也不下雨。”

我向你們變臉，你們就敗在仇敵面前；恨惡你們的要管轄你們；雖然沒有人追趕，你們仍然逃跑。

耶和華必用毒瘡打擊你的雙膝和雙腿，由踵至頂，使你無法醫治。

如果我使瘟疫流行那地，藉著流血的事把我的烈怒傾倒在那地上，使人和牲畜都從那地剪除；即使當中有挪亞、但以理和約伯，我指著我的永生起誓，他們只能因自己的義救自己的性命，連兒女也不能救。這是主耶和華的宣告。”主耶和華這樣說：“我打發刀劍、饑荒、猛獸和瘟疫這四樣可怕的刑罰臨到耶路撒冷，要把人和牲畜從那裡剪除的時候，那情況豈不更嚴重嗎？

在曠野一切光禿的高岡上，行毀滅的已經來到了；因為耶和華的刀。從地這邊直到地那邊，要吞滅一切；人人都沒有平安。

因為耶和華必用火和刀劍，在所有的人身上施行審判，被耶和華所殺的人必定很多。

“耶和華必用埃及人的瘡、痔漏、牛皮癬、紅疹打擊你，這是你不能醫治的。

也不必害怕黑暗中流行的瘟疫，或是在正午把人毀滅的毒病。

你們吃久藏的舊糧，要挪出舊糧，騰空給新糧。

這世代終結的時候，也是一樣。那時天使要出去，把惡人從義人中分別出來。丟進火爐，在那裡必要哀哭切齒。
