他們還沒有求告，我就已經應允；他們正要禱告，我就已經垂聽。

他們對撒母耳說：「請你為我們不停地呼求我們的上帝耶和華，求祂從非利士人手中拯救我們。」撒母耳把一隻還在吃奶的羊獻給耶和華作全牲燔祭。他為以色列人呼求耶和華，耶和華垂聽了他的祈求。

於是，耶和華降火燒盡了祭物、木柴、石頭、塵土，甚至溝裡的水。

他求告我，我就答應他；他遭遇患難，我必與他同在。我必拯救他，賜他尊貴的地位。

主啊，求你開我的口，我要向你發出讚美。

摩西把耶和華的這些話記錄下來。第二天清晨，摩西在山腳築了一座壇，立了十二根柱子代表以色列的十二支派。他又吩咐以色列的青年去給耶和華獻燔祭，又獻上公牛作平安祭。

火焰從祭壇上升起的時候，耶和華的天使也在祭壇的火焰中升上去了。瑪挪亞夫婦見狀，便俯伏在地。

然後，你們求告你們神明的名字，我求告耶和華，那聽禱告降下火來的就是上帝。」眾人非常贊同他的主意。

你們要為我築一座土壇，把你們的牛羊獻在壇上作燔祭和平安祭。凡是我使自己的名號被尊崇的地方，我會親臨那裡賜福給你們。你們若為我築石壇，不可用鑿刻的石頭，因為用工具鑿刻的石頭會玷污祭壇。

要尊崇我們的上帝耶和華，在祂的聖山上敬拜祂，因為我們的上帝耶和華是聖潔的。

所羅門禱告完畢，就有火從天上降下，燒盡了燔祭和其他祭物。殿裡充滿了耶和華的榮光，
