Judges 7:2-8
The Lord said to Gideon,“ The people with you are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hand, lest Israel boast over me, saying,‘ My own hand has saved me.’Now therefore proclaim in the ears of the people, saying,‘ Whoever is fearful and trembling, let him return home and hurry away from Mount Gilead.’” Then 22,000 of the people returned, and 10,000 remained.And the Lord said to Gideon,“ The people are still too many. Take them down to the water, and I will test them for you there, and anyone of whom I say to you,‘ This one shall go with you,’ shall go with you, and anyone of whom I say to you,‘ This one shall not go with you,’ shall not go.”So he brought the people down to the water. And the Lord said to Gideon,“ Every one who laps the water with his tongue, as a dog laps, you shall set by himself. Likewise, every one who kneels down to drink.”And the number of those who lapped, putting their hands to their mouths, was 300 men, but all the rest of the people knelt down to drink water.And the Lord said to Gideon,“ With the 300 men who lapped I will save you and give the Midianites into your hand, and let all the others go every man to his home.”So the people took provisions in their hands, and their trumpets. And he sent all the rest of Israel every man to his tent, but retained the 300 men. And the camp of Midian was below him in the valley.

Then he took his staff in his hand and chose five smooth stones from the brook and put them in his shepherd’s pouch. His sling was in his hand, and he approached the Philistine.And the Philistine moved forward and came near to David, with his shield-bearer in front of him.And when the Philistine looked and saw David, he disdained him, for he was but a youth, ruddy and handsome in appearance.And the Philistine said to David,“ Am I a dog, that you come to me with sticks?” And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.The Philistine said to David,“ Come to me, and I will give your flesh to the birds of the air and to the beasts of the field.”Then David said to the Philistine,“ You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you down and cut off your head. And I will give the dead bodies of the host of the Philistines this day to the birds of the air and to the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel,and that all this assembly may know that the Lord saves not with sword and spear. For the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give you into our hand.”When the Philistine arose and came and drew near to meet David, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet the Philistine.And David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone and slung it and struck the Philistine on his forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the ground.So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and struck the Philistine and killed him. There was no sword in the hand of David.Then David ran and stood over the Philistine and took his sword and drew it out of its sheath and killed him and cut off his head with it. When the Philistines saw that their champion was dead, they fled.

1 Kings 20 14-1 Kings 20 22
And Ahab said,“ By whom?” He said,“ Thus says the Lord, By the servants of the governors of the districts.” Then he said,“ Who shall begin the battle?” He answered,“ You.”Then he mustered the servants of the governors of the districts, and they were 232. And after them he mustered all the people of Israel, seven thousand.And they went out at noon, while Ben-hadad was drinking himself drunk in the booths, he and the thirty-two kings who helped him.The servants of the governors of the districts went out first. And Ben-hadad sent out scouts, and they reported to him,“ Men are coming out from Samaria.”He said,“ If they have come out for peace, take them alive. Or if they have come out for war, take them alive.”So these went out of the city, the servants of the governors of the districts and the army that followed them.And each struck down his man. The Syrians fled, and Israel pursued them, but Ben-hadad king of Syria escaped on a horse with horsemen.And the king of Israel went out and struck the horses and chariots, and struck the Syrians with a great blow.Then the prophet came near to the king of Israel and said to him,“ Come, strengthen yourself, and consider well what you have to do, for in the spring the king of Syria will come up against you.”

“ Tell the people of Israel to turn back and encamp in front of Pi-hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, in front of Baal-zephon; you shall encamp facing it, by the sea.For Pharaoh will say of the people of Israel,‘ They are wandering in the land; the wilderness has shut them in.’And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and he will pursue them, and I will get glory over Pharaoh and all his host, and the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord.” And they did so.

Thus shall you do for six days.Seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark. On the seventh day you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets.And when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, when you hear the sound of the trumpet, then all the people shall shout with a great shout, and the wall of the city will fall down flat, and the people shall go up, everyone straight before him.”
