He is the stone which was set at nought of you the builders, which was made the head of the corner.And in none other is there salvation: for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved.Now when they beheld the boldness of Peter and John, and had perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.And seeing the man that was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been wrought through them, is manifest to all that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.But that it spread no further among the people, let us threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.And they called them, and charged them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it is right in the sight of God to hearken unto you rather than unto God, judge ye:for we cannot but speak the things which we saw and heard.And they, when they had further threatened them, let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people; for all men glorified God for that which was done.

therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder; and the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.

( for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the casting down of strongholds);casting down imaginations, and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ;

for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to withstand or to gainsay.

and said unto him, Hearest thou what these are saying? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea: did ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the exceeding greatness of the power may be of God, and not from ourselves;

For he hath brought down them that dwell on high, the lofty city: he layeth it low, he layeth it low even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust.The foot shall tread it down; even the feet of the poor, and the steps of the needy.

But I will leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall take refuge in the name of Jehovah.

For, His letters, they say, are weighty and strong; but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech of no account.

The meek also shall increase their joy in Jehovah, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

But after certain days, Felix came with Drusilla, his wife, who was a Jewess, and sent for Paul, and heard him concerning the faith in Christ Jesus.And as he reasoned of righteousness, and self- control, and the judgment to come, Felix was terrified, and answered, Go thy way for this time; and when I have a convenient season, I will call thee unto me.

And some of the Pharisees from the multitude said unto him, Teacher, rebuke thy disciples.And he answered and said, I tell you that, if these shall hold their peace, the stones will cry out.

And as Jesus passed by from thence, he saw a man, called Matthew, sitting at the place of toll: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.

And certain also of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers encountered him. And some said, What would this babbler say? others, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached Jesus and the resurrection.

This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge? him hath God sent to be both a ruler and a deliverer with the hand of the angel that appeared to him in the bush.

But there arose certain of them that were of the synagogue called the synagogue of the Libertines, and of the Cyrenians, and of the Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and Asia, disputing with Stephen.And they were not able to withstand the wisdom and the Spirit by which he spake.

Now when they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth.
