乃上帝選世之愚者、以愧智者、選世之弱者、以愧強者、

神却拣选了世上愚拙的，叫有智慧的羞愧；又拣选了世上软弱的，叫那强壮的羞愧。

我所愛之兄弟乎、聽之哉、上帝豈非選斯世之貧者、使富於信、而承其所許於愛己者之國乎、

耶穌又曰、父乎、天地主也、我讚爾、以此事、於智者達者則隱之、於赤子則顯之、

因敵之故、爾由赤子乳哺者之口、而堅厥力、使敵與報復者、默爾無言兮、

彼乃爾工師所棄之石、已成屋隅首石矣、此外別無拯救、蓋天下人間、未錫他名、我儕以之得救也、○眾見彼得約翰之果敢、且知其為無學無識之氓、則異之、又知其曾偕耶穌、亦見得愈者偕立、則莫能辯駁、乃令之出公會、相議曰、斯二人將何以處之、蓋彼顯行異蹟、彰著於凡居耶路撒冷者、我儕不能言其無有也、惟免其廣播於民中、宜威嚇之、俾不復以斯名語人、遂召而戒之曰、勿以耶穌之名、是言是訓、彼得約翰曰、聽爾曹、過於聽上帝、在上帝前為義否、爾其審之、蓋我儕所見所聞者、不得不言也、有司復威嚇而釋之、以民故、無由刑之、蓋眾因其所為、而歸榮上帝也、

故我將行奇事於斯民、奇之最奇、智者亡其智、聰者蔽其聰、○

蓋我之戰具、非屬血氣、乃上帝視為有能、破諸堅壘、舉凡計謀及矜高、阻人識上帝者、我悉敗之、虜諸心志、降服基督、

蓋我將賜爾才辯智慧、爾諸仇不能抵拒辯駁也、

語耶穌曰、若所言、爾聞之乎、曰、然、以赤子乳哺者之口、完備頌讚、爾未讀乎、

我儕有此寶、置於土器、致莫大之能、非由我、乃由上帝、

曾降居高之人、毀崇高之邑、覆之於地、墮之於塵、人足將踐之、貧窮困乏者之步履蹂躪之、

然我必遺困苦貧乏之民於爾中、彼必託庇於耶和華之名、

或謂我書嚴厲、晤對時則身柔言鄙、

卑微之輩、因耶和華而增歡欣、貧乏之人、緣以色列之聖者而得喜樂、

越數日、腓力斯與其妻、猶太女土西拉至、召保羅聽其言基督耶穌之道、保羅論公義節制、及將來之鞫、腓力斯懼曰、今且退、暇時將召爾、

眾中有法利賽數人、謂耶穌曰、夫子當責爾徒、曰、我語汝、此輩若緘默、諸石將呼矣、○

耶穌經行加利利海濱、見兄弟二人、乃西門稱彼得者、與其弟安得烈、施網於海、蓋漁者也、謂之曰、從我、我將使爾為漁人者焉、即舍網從之、由此而前、又見兄弟二人、乃西庇太之子雅各與其弟約翰、偕父在舟補網、招之、即舍舟別父而從焉、○

耶穌由此而往、見有名馬太者、坐於稅關、謂之曰、從我、遂起從之、

有以彼古羅、斯多亞二教之哲士數人、與之爭辨、或曰、此嘐啁者、欲何言耶、或曰、似宣揚異邦鬼神者、蓋保羅宣耶穌及復起也、

夫此摩西、即民所拒云、誰立爾為有司刑官者、乃上帝以棘叢中所見天使之手、遣之為有司為援救者矣、

有稱利百地拿會堂、及古利奈、亞力山太、基利家、亞西亞之會堂者數人、起而與司提反辯論、司提反以智與神而言、眾莫能禦、

眾聞之、忿極、向之切齒、
