饭后也照样拿起杯来，说：“这杯是用我血所立的新约，是为你们流出来的。

为此，他作了新约的中保，既然受死赎了人在前约之时所犯的罪过，便叫蒙召之人得着所应许永远的产业。凡有遗命必须等到留遗命的人死了；因为人死了，遗命才有效力，若留遗命的尚在，那遗命还有用处吗？所以，前约也不是不用血立的；因为摩西当日照着律法将各样诫命传给众百姓，就拿朱红色绒和牛膝草，把牛犊山羊的血和水洒在书上，又洒在众百姓身上，说：“这血就是神与你们立约的凭据。”

但愿赐平安的神，就是那凭永约之血、使群羊的大牧人、我主耶稣从死里复活的神，

他叫我们能承当这新约的执事，不是凭着字句，乃是凭着精意；因为那字句是叫人死，精意是叫人活。

我们所祝福的杯，岂不是同领基督的血吗？我们所擘开的饼，岂不是同领基督的身体吗？

但他们的心地刚硬，直到今日诵读旧约的时候，这帕子还没有揭去。这帕子在基督里已经废去了。

所以，无论何人，不按理吃主的饼，喝主的杯，就是干犯主的身、主的血了。人应当自己省察，然后吃这饼、喝这杯。
