它們的聲音（按照《馬索拉文本》，“聲音”作“準繩”；現參照《七十士譯本》等古譯本翻譯）傳遍全地，它們的言語傳到地極，神在它們中間為太陽安設帳幕。太陽如同新郎出洞房，又像勇士歡歡喜喜地跑路。它從天的這邊出來，繞行到天的那邊；沒有甚麼可以隱藏，得不到它的溫暖。

神說：“在天上穹蒼中，要有光體來分晝夜；這些光體要作為記號，定節令、日子和年歲；
