死乎、爾勝安在、死乎、爾鋒安在、

死之為害何在、陰府之克我何在、

死之鋒鋩何在、陰府之勝何在、

『嗚呼死亡！爾之勝利安在？爾之毒螫又安在哉？』

“ Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”

“ Death, where is the victory you thought you had? Death, where is your sting?”( Hosea 13:14)

Where, death, is your victory? Where, death, is your sting?

“ O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?”

O death, where is thy victory? O death, where is thy sting?

Death, where is your victory? Death, where is your sting?

O death, where[ is] thy sting? O grave, where[ is] thy victory?

“ Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”

I will ransom them from the power of Sheol. I will redeem them from death! Death, where are your plagues? Sheol, where is your destruction?“ Compassion will be hidden from my eyes.

What man is he who shall live and not see death, who shall deliver his soul from the power of Sheol? Selah.

Then I said in my heart,“ As it happens to the fool, so will it happen even to me; and why was I then more wise?” Then I said in my heart that this also is vanity.For of the wise man, even as of the fool, there is no memory forever, since in the days to come all will have been long forgotten. Indeed, the wise man must die just like the fool!

Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those whose sins weren’t like Adam’s disobedience, who is a foreshadowing of him who was to come.

He said,“ Who are you, Lord?” The Lord said,“ I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.

In Hades, he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham far off, and Lazarus at his bosom.

For the redemption of their life is costly, no payment is ever enough,that he should live on forever, that he should not see corruption.For he sees that wise men die; likewise the fool and the senseless perish, and leave their wealth to others.Their inward thought is that their houses will endure forever, and their dwelling places to all generations. They name their lands after themselves.But man, despite his riches, doesn’t endure. He is like the animals that perish.This is the destiny of those who are foolish, and of those who approve their sayings. Selah.They are appointed as a flock for Sheol. Death shall be their shepherd. The upright shall have dominion over them in the morning. Their beauty shall decay in Sheol, far from their mansion.But God will redeem my soul from the power of Sheol, for he will receive me. Selah.

because you will not leave my soul in Hades, neither will you allow your Holy One to see decay.

There is no man who has power over the spirit to contain the spirit; neither does he have power over the day of death. There is no discharge in war; neither shall wickedness deliver those who practice it.

The sea gave up the dead who were in it. Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them. They were judged, each one according to his works.Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.

For that which happens to the sons of men happens to animals. Even one thing happens to them. As the one dies, so the other dies. Yes, they have all one breath; and man has no advantage over the animals; for all is vanity.

For the living know that they will die, but the dead don’t know anything, neither do they have any more a reward; for their memory is forgotten.Also their love, their hatred, and their envy has perished long ago; neither do they any longer have a portion forever in anything that is done under the sun.

The members of his body will be devoured. The firstborn of death will devour his members.He will be rooted out of the security of his tent. He will be brought to the king of terrors.

They have tails like those of scorpions, and stings. In their tails they have power to harm men for five months.
