關於祭肉問題、吾人固知偶像皆屬子虛烏有；亦知天主之外更無真神。

同一真宰、即萬有之父、超乎萬有、貫乎萬有、而寓乎萬有者也。

夫天主一而已矣、而介居天主與人之間者、亦一而已矣、則基督耶穌其人也。

然則何如？豈謂祭肉足以浼我乎？抑吾目中尚有偶像其物乎？非也！然外教人所祭獻之物、乃獻於魔鬼、而非獻於天主也。吾固不願爾等之與魔鬼有所共享也。

人若見爾有知者宴於偶像廟中、則無知者亦將背其良心而食祭餘之物矣。

豈同若輩手製之偶像兮。乃金銀之所成。口不能言。耳不能聽。目不能視。鼻不能聞。手不能握。足不能行。雖具喉舌。寂寂無聲。是知造像者固麻木而不仁矣。而信奉之者又安得而非冥頑不靈者乎。

而在吾人、則惟有一『神、』即萬物所自、吾人所歸之聖父是已；惟有一主、即萬物所藉以生、吾人所藉以歸之耶穌基督是已。然非人人具此真知灼見；頗有數輩、至今尚以偶像有靈潛存於意識中、若知所食者為祭餘之物、則其脆弱之良心為所浼矣。

至論祭肉如何、吾人皆曰斯易知耳。然知能長傲、惟愛德則能立己立人也。

吾願其因吾主耶穌基督、受享一切榮、一切尊、一切威、一切權、若永古、若今茲、奕世靡暨、心焉祝之。

伏願一切尊榮、永歸萬世之王、有生無死、超乎形象之唯一天主、心焉祝之。
