孩子們哪，我寫了信給你們，因為你們已經認識了父；父老們哪，我寫了信給你們，因為你們已經認識了從太初就有的那一位；年輕人哪，我寫了信給你們，因為你們是強壯的，神的話語住在你們裡面，你們也已經勝過了那惡者。

「我父把一切都交給了我。除了父，沒有人知道子是誰；除了子和子所願意啟示的人，也沒有人知道父是誰。」

孩子們哪，你們屬於神，而且你們已經勝過了假先知們，因為那在你們裡面的，比那在世界上的更大。

我們知道：凡是由神所生的人，就不會繼續犯罪；原來，由神所生的那一位保守著他，那惡者也就不碰他。

我父把一切都交給了我。除了父，沒有人認識子；除了子和子所願意啟示的人，也沒有人認識父。

他們做這些事，是因為不認識父，也不認識我。

「因為他愛慕我，我就挽救他；因為他認識我的名，我就高舉他。

如果我們遵守基督的命令，從這一點我們就知道我們已經認識他。那說「我已經認識他」，卻不遵守他命令的，就是說謊者，真理也不在這個人裡面；

力量是青年人的榮耀；白髮是老年人的威嚴。

我的孩子們哪，我把這些事寫給你們，免得你們犯罪。但如果有人犯了罪，在父那裡我們有一位辯護者，就是那義者耶穌基督。

青年人和處女們、老年人與少年人——

願他們都合而為一。父啊，正如你在我裡面，我也在你裡面，願他們也在我們裡面，好讓世界相信是你差派了我。

他們就問耶穌：「你的『父』在哪裡？」耶穌回答：「你們既不認識我，也不認識我的父；如果你們認識我，也就認識我的父。」

無論誰聽了天國的話語而不領悟，那惡者就來，把那撒在他心裡的奪走；這就是那被撒上種子的『路邊之地』。

耶穌回答：「如果我榮耀自己，我的榮耀就算不得什麼。榮耀我的是我的父，就是你們說『他是我們的神』的那一位。你們不認識他，我卻認識他。如果我說我不認識他，我就成了像你們那樣的說謊者。但我認識他，也遵守他的話語。
