惟主耶穌基督是服、毋為形軀是圖、以縱其慾、

其轉我心、向爾法度、不向非義之財兮、其轉我目、不視虛妄、甦我於爾道兮、

陰府死域、永無滿足、世人之目、亦無滿足、

此智非自上而來、乃屬地與慾與魔也、

我儕亦嘗出入其中、徇形軀之情、行身心之欲、本為服怒之輩、如他人然、

俾不再循人慾、惟循上帝之旨、以度餘年、爾往時從異邦人之欲、而行邪侈、縱恣、沉湎、荒宴、盤樂、及違理拜像之事亦足矣、

愛友乎、爾若客旅、若寄居、我勸爾戒形軀之慾、即攻爾心者也、

心試上帝、隨己之欲而求食兮、

我於所奪之物中、見有示拿之美衣、及銀二百舍客勒、金鋌五十舍客勒、則貪而取之、今在我幕、匿於地中、銀在其下、

且屬基督耶穌者、已以形軀及其情慾、釘於十架矣、○

教我儕棄絕不虔、與世俗之慾、而以貞正、公義、敬虔、度生於今世、

魔引之上升、瞬息間、以世上諸國示之、

彼狥形軀、縱污慾、輕視執政為尤甚、乃果敢自恃、謗讟尊榮、而不戰慄、

雜處流氓、貪欲無厭、以色列族亦哭泣曰、誰予我肉食、

其欲未厭、食猶在口、

蓋其言矜誇虛誕、由形軀之慾、以淫邪誘惑甫脫妄行者、

蓋我儕素亦無知、悖逆、迷惑、役於情慾佚樂、以狠毒媢嫉度生、見惡於人、亦彼此相惡、

其地遂稱曰基博羅哈他瓦、因貪欲之人葬於彼也、

世上諸商、亦為之哭而哀、因不復見有人購其貨也、斯貨也、若金銀、寶石、珠璣、枲布、紫料、絲帛、絳料、香松諸木、象牙諸器、及佳木銅鐵白石諸器、亦有肉桂、荳蔻、香料、香膏、乳香、酒、油、麵、麥、牛、羊、馬、車、及人之身與靈也、爾心所嗜之果已去、爾之珍饈華采皆亡、不復見之、諸商因之致富者、以其痛苦、懼而遠立、哀哭之、曰、禍哉、禍哉、大邑乎、素衣枲布紫絳、飾以金珠寶石者乎、蓋半時間、如此之巨富、成為荒墟也、各舟長與航海者及舟子、並凡恃海為業者、

好金者、得金而不知足、好富者、獲利而不知饜、斯亦虛空、貨財增、食之者亦增、其主有何益哉、惟目睹之而已、
