This is how we know that we know him: if we keep his commandments.

我们若遵守他的诫命，就晓得是认识他。

We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands.

We know that we have come to know God if we obey his commands.

And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments.

And we can be sure that we know him if we obey his commandments.

This is how we know that we know him: if we keep his commands.

By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments.

We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. He who doesn’t love his brother remains in death.

One who says,“ I know him,” and doesn’t keep his commandments, is a liar, and the truth isn’t in him.But God’s love has most certainly been perfected in whoever keeps his word. This is how we know that we are in him:he who says he remains in him ought himself also to walk just like he walked.

And by this we know that we are of the truth, and persuade our hearts before him,
