If you see any brother or sister commit a sin that does not lead to death, you should pray and God will give them life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that you should pray about that.

Suppose you see any brother or sister commit a sin. But this sin is not the kind that leads to death. Then you should pray, and God will give them life. I’m talking about someone whose sin does not lead to death. But there is a sin that does lead to death. I’m not saying you should pray about that sin.

耶和華說：「耶利米啊，不要為這些百姓禱告，不要替他們哀求，不要為他們向我祈求，因為我必不聽。

「因此，耶利米啊，你不要為這些人祈禱，不要為他們呼求禱告，因為他們遭難時向我呼求，我必不理會他們。

生病的人應該請教會的長老來，奉主的名用油抹他的身體並為他禱告。出於信心的禱告必能使病人痊癒，主必使他康復。倘若他犯了罪，也必得到赦免。

耶和華對我說：「你不要為這百姓禱告。

他們說：「來！我們設計對付耶利米吧，反正我們有祭司教導律法，有智者出謀劃策，有先知傳講預言。來吧！我們抨擊他，不要理會他的話。」耶和華啊，求你眷顧我，聽聽敵人對我的指控。人豈能以惡報善？他們竟設陷阱謀害我，求你回想我怎樣站在你面前為他們求情，怎樣求你不要向他們發烈怒。因此，願他們喪身刀下，兒女餓死，妻子喪夫亡子，年長的被殺，年少的死於戰場！

耶和華對我說：「就算摩西和撒母耳站在我面前求情，我也不會憐憫這些百姓。你把他們從我面前趕走吧！如果他們問你，『我們該去哪裡，』你就告訴他們，耶和華這樣說，『該死的死，該被殺的被殺，該遭饑荒的遭饑荒，該被擄的被擄。』

我想在他們中間尋找一位重修城牆的人，站在我面前為這地方堵住缺口，免得我毀滅這裡。可是，我一個也找不到。

耶和華對摩西說：「這些人藐視我要到何時呢？我在他們中間行了這麼多神蹟，他們仍然不相信我。我要用瘟疫毀滅他們，不讓他們承受那片土地。但我要使你成為大國，比他們更強盛。」摩西對耶和華說：「你曾經用大能把以色列人從埃及領出來，埃及人聽說這事後，一定會告訴迦南的居民。那裡的居民早已聽說你耶和華與以色列人同在，你面對面向他們顯現，你的雲彩停留在他們上面，你白天用雲柱、黑夜用火柱引導他們。如果你把他們全部消滅，那些聽過你威名的列國就會議論說，『耶和華無法把以色列人領到祂起誓要賜給他們的地方，所以在曠野把他們殺了。』因此，求主彰顯偉大的權能，正如你所宣告的，『耶和華不輕易發怒，充滿慈愛；祂赦免罪惡和過犯，但決不免除罪責，必向子孫追討父輩的罪債，直到三四代。』從他們離開埃及直到現在，你一直在饒恕他們，求你以偉大的慈愛再次赦免這些人的罪。」耶和華說：「我聽你的祈求，赦免他們。但我憑我的永恆起誓，正如大地充滿我的榮耀一樣確實，

因此祂說要消滅他們。若不是祂所揀選的摩西為他們求情，祂早已在烈怒中毀滅了他們。

於是，摩西呼求耶和華：「上帝啊，求你醫治她！」
