So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours?”

So give me a heart that understands. Then I can rule over your people. I can tell the difference between what is right and what is wrong. Who can possibly rule over this great nation of yours?”

Give your servant therefore an understanding mind to govern your people, that I may discern between good and evil, for who is able to govern this your great people?”

有人智不足、當求上帝、上帝博施、不汝瑕疵、必賜所求、

惟成人則肉食、以其練習、精於思、能別美惡焉、

故婢曰、我主我王之言、致我慰藉、我主我王如上帝之使、辨其是非、望耶和華爾之上帝祐爾。

大聲而呼、亟求明哲、欲得智慧、索之若金、尋之若寶、夫如是、則耶和華上帝、所當寅畏、可得而知矣。耶和華賜人以智慧、畀人以明哲。錫嘏善士、護衛義人、秉公義之理、保敬虔之士、爾既求智、則百善由此而知、仁義由此而明。

我自無所能、惟遵所聞者、而審判之、我審判以義、我不己意是求、乃父遣我者之意也、

上帝兮、維彼王子、今繼厥位、爾訓以道、俾秉大公兮、以正理鞫民、為貧民聽訟兮、

耶和華之神賦之、使有智慧、使有謀力、知耶和華之道而寅畏之、知人崇事耶和華之誠偽、不待目見耳聞、而是非悉辨、為困乏與謙遜之人聽訟、秉公行義、作惡者流、必遭箠楚、以辭氣滅之、

獲智慧、愈於得金銀。

願耶和華賦爾智慧、恪守其律例、用治以色列族。

我不能擅自思索、吾之能由上帝、

孰能聽其訟、祈爾賜僕智慧聰明、能治斯民。

賜我智慧、守爾律例、盡心遵之兮、

爾道仁義、永世靡窮、畀予明哲、俾得永生兮。○

不可不智、務悉主心、

摩西籲耶和華曰、我主、自昔迄今爾命我之時、我無能措辭、拙於口病於舌。耶和華曰、予人以口者誰乎、使人或聾或瘖、或明或瞽者誰乎、非我耶和華乎。往哉、我必助爾說辭、示爾以所當言。曰、我主請遣他人。

耳能聞、目能見、俱耶和華使然。

智者自知、謂之真智、愚者自欺、謂之真愚。

邑中有貧人、明哲是懷、施其智以救邑眾、其後人無復念之者。我竊思之、智愈於力、貧者之智、為人藐忽、不從其言。寧從哲士之詞、莫聽昏君之論。智之為用勝於劍戟、惟一愚人與其間、則雖有嘉謀、亦為所敗。

我曰、主耶和華與、渺余小子、不能知所當言。

人得智慧、則蒙綏祉、市之愈白金、得之愈黃金、貴於琅玕、凡所慕者、無能比儗。得智慧者、福祉遐齡、左宜右有、從其道者、享懽樂、得平康。凡得之者、如得生命之樹、存之者、可蒙福祉。

昔爾甄陶余、今以智慧賜余、學爾誡命兮、

由上之智、即廉潔、和平、溫良、寛恕、恆存矜恤善行、絕諸偏視偽為、

摩西對曰、我何人斯、焉得見法老、導以色列族出埃及乎。曰、我左右爾、爾導民出埃及、必事我於此山、我非無徵以遣爾。

有智有財、二者兼得、其益不淺。

然未化之人、不受上帝聖神之道、而視為不智、且亦不能識、必聖神助之、乃能忖度焉、惟感聖神之人、忖度萬理、自不被人忖度、

約翰辭曰、我應受洗於爾、爾反就我乎、

以色列族眾、聞王所擬若是、知王感於上帝、得智以折中、故無不寅畏焉。

夫我以水施洗、俾爾悔改、但後我來者、更勝於我、其履我亦不堪提、彼將以聖神及火施洗爾、

沉淪者臭此、則為死之臭、致死、得救者臭此、則為生之香、致生、誰堪任此乎、

賜我子所羅門、誠心守爾禁令、法度禮儀、我嘗備材、以建斯殿、亦願我子告厥成功。

可辯異同、心純無礙、以待基督臨日、

胸懷睿智之人、較邑中十長者、更有能焉。
