Samuel said,“ Then what does this bleating of the sheep in my ears, and the lowing of the cattle which I hear mean?”

撒母耳说：“我耳中听见有羊叫、牛鸣，是从哪里来的呢？”

撒母耳说：“我耳中听见有羊叫、牛鸣的声音，又是什么呢？”

撒母耳说：“我耳中听见有羊叫、牛鸣的声音，又是什么呢？”

撒母耳说：“那么，我现在听见的牛羊叫声是从哪里来的？”

撒母耳说：“我耳中听见有羊叫牛鸣的声音，到底是什么呢？”

撒母耳说：“那么我耳中这羊叫的声音、我所听见的牛叫声，是怎么回事呢？”

撒母耳說：「我耳中聽見有羊叫、牛鳴，是從哪裏來的呢？」

撒母耳說：「我耳中聽見有羊叫、牛鳴的聲音，又是甚麼呢？」

撒母耳說：「我耳中聽見有羊叫、牛鳴的聲音，又是甚麼呢？」

撒母耳說：「那麼，我現在聽見的牛羊叫聲是從哪裡來的？」

撒母耳說：“我耳中聽見有羊叫牛鳴的聲音，到底是甚麼呢？”

撒母耳說：『那麼傳入我耳中的這羊叫的聲音、和我所聽見牛叫的聲音，都是怎麼回事啊？』

撒母耳說：「那麼我耳中這羊叫的聲音、我所聽見的牛叫聲，是怎麼回事呢？」

撒母耳曰、然則我聞羊鳴牛鳴、是何意耶、

撒母耳曰、羊鳴牛吼、入於我耳、是何故與。

撒母耳曰、若然、則入我耳之羊鳴、我所聞之牛吼、由何至歟、

But Samuel said,“ What then is this bleating of sheep in my ears? What is this lowing of cattle that I hear?”

But Samuel said,“ Then why do I hear the baaing of sheep? Why do I hear the mooing of cattle?”

And Samuel said,“ What then is this bleating of the sheep in my ears and the lowing of the oxen that I hear?”

“ Then what is all the bleating of sheep and goats and the lowing of cattle I hear?” Samuel demanded.

Samuel replied,“ Then what is this sound of sheep, goats, and cattle I hear?”

But Samuel said,“ What then is this bleating of the sheep in my ears, and the bellowing of the oxen which I hear?”

But Samuel said,“ What then is this bleating of the sheep in my ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear?”

And Samuel said, What meaneth then this bleating of the sheep in mine ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear?

Samuel replied,“ Then what is this sound of sheep and cattle I hear?”

And Samuel said, What[ meaneth] then this bleating of the sheep in mine ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear?

Samuel replied,“ If that is the case, then what is this sound of sheep in my ears and the sound of cattle that I hear?”

Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each man will get his praise from God.

For he flatters himself in his own eyes, too much to detect and hate his sin.

But to the wicked God says,“ What right do you have to declare my statutes, that you have taken my covenant on your lips,since you hate instruction, and throw my words behind you?When you saw a thief, you consented with him, and have participated with adulterers.“ You give your mouth to evil. Your tongue frames deceit.You sit and speak against your brother. You slander your own mother’s son.You have done these things, and I kept silent. You thought that I was just like you. I will rebuke you, and accuse you in front of your eyes.

Now we know that whatever things the law says, it speaks to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be closed, and all the world may be brought under the judgment of God.

Also the blood of the souls of the innocent poor is found in your skirts. You didn’t find them breaking in; but it is because of all these things.“ Yet you said,‘ I am innocent. Surely his anger has turned away from me.’“ Behold, I will judge you, because you say,‘ I have not sinned.’Why do you go about so much to change your ways? You will be ashamed of Egypt also, as you were ashamed of Assyria.You will also leave that place with your hands on your head; for Yahweh has rejected those in whom you trust, and you won’t prosper with them.

Now what do you gain by going to Egypt, to drink the waters of the Shihor? Or why do you to go on the way to Assyria, to drink the waters of the River?“ Your own wickedness will correct you, and your backsliding will rebuke you. Know therefore and see that it is an evil and bitter thing, that you have forsaken Yahweh your God, and that my fear is not in you,” says the Lord, Yahweh of Armies.

For though you wash yourself with lye, and use much soap, yet your iniquity is marked before me,” says the Lord Yahweh.“ How can you say,‘ I am not defiled. I have not gone after the Baals’? See your way in the valley. Know what you have done. You are a swift dromedary traversing her ways,

“ Your words have been stout against me,” says Yahweh.“ Yet you say,‘ What have we spoken against you?’You have said,‘ It is vain to serve God;’ and‘ What profit is it that we have followed his instructions, and that we have walked mournfully before Yahweh of Armies?Now we call the proud happy; yes, those who work wickedness are built up; yes, they tempt God, and escape.’

“ He said to him,‘ Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant! You knew that I am an exacting man, taking up that which I didn’t lay down, and reaping that which I didn’t sow.
