掃羅對大衛說：『我兒大衛、願你蒙祝福；你不但一定做大事，也一定得勝利。』於是大衛走他的路去，掃羅也回自己的地方去了。

Then Saul said to David,“ May you be blessed, David my son; you will do great things and surely triumph.” So David went on his way, and Saul returned home.

And Saul said to David,“ Blessings on you, my son David. You will do many heroic deeds, and you will surely succeed.” Then David went away, and Saul returned home.

Saul said to him,“ You are blessed, my son David. You will certainly do great things and will also prevail.” Then David went on his way, and Saul returned home.

Then Saul said to David,“ Blessed are you, my son David; you will both accomplish much and assuredly prevail.” So David went on his way, and Saul returned to his place.

他雖說出溫雅的話，你不可信他，因為他心中有七樣可厭惡的；

於是大衛向掃羅起誓。掃羅回家去；大衛和跟隨的人也上山寨去了。

人若遇見仇敵，哪肯送他好好上路呢？願永恆主因你今天向我所行的以福報你。

那人說：『你的名不要再叫雅各，要叫以色列，因為你跟神跟人較力，都得了勝。』

他屈身躺着像公獅、像母獅；誰敢惹他呢？凡給你祝福的、願他蒙祝福，凡咒詛你的、願他受咒詛。』巴勒向巴蘭發怒，就拍起掌來；對巴蘭說：『我請你來咒詛我的仇敵；你看，你竟全給他們祝福了這三次呢。

他和天使較力，竟得了勝；他哭泣向他懇求。是在伯特利他遇見了上帝，是在那裏上帝同他說話——

誰能使我們和基督的愛隔絕呢？難道是苦難麼？是困迫麼？是逼迫麼？是饑餓麼？是赤身麼？是危險麼？是刀劍麼？

凡為攻擊你而製造的器械、必用得不順利；凡在審判時起來跟你爭辯的舌頭、你都必證它為不對；這是永恆主僕人的產業，是他們從我所得的勝訴：永恆主發神諭說了。』

不；在這一切事上、我們藉着那愛了我們的、倒是得勝有餘了。
