Samuel said,“ The Lord has left you. He has become your enemy. So why are you asking me what you should do?

撒母耳說：「耶和華已經離開你，且與你為敵，你何必問我呢？

撒母耳說：「既然耶和華已經離棄了你，與你為敵，你為什麼還來問我？

撒母耳說：“耶和華既然離開了你，又成了你的敵人，你為甚麼還問我呢？

撒母耳說：『永恆主既已離開了你，跟你為敵，為甚麼還問我呢？

撒母耳說：「既然耶和華已經離開你，與你為敵，你為什麼還問我呢？

撒母耳曰、耶和華既已離爾、為爾之敵、曷問我哉、

撒母耳曰、耶和華棄爾、必降以罰、曷問我哉。

撒母耳曰、爾何問我、主已離爾、不悅爾、不悅爾原文作已為爾敵

Samuel said,“ Why do you consult me, now that the Lord has departed from you and become your enemy?

And Samuel said,“ Why then do you ask me, since the Lord has turned from you and become your enemy?

But Samuel replied,“ Why ask me, since the Lord has left you and has become your enemy?

Samuel answered,“ Since the LORD has turned away from you and has become your enemy, why are you asking me?

Samuel said,“ But why ask me, since the Lord has abandoned you and has become your enemy?

Then Samuel said:“ So why do you ask me, seeing the Lord has departed from you and has become your enemy?

And Samuel said, Wherefore then dost thou ask of me, seeing Jehovah is departed from thee, and is become thine adversary?

Samuel answered,“ Since the Lord has turned away from you and has become your enemy, why are you asking me?

Then said Samuel, Wherefore then dost thou ask of me, seeing the LORD is departed from thee, and is become thine enemy?

Samuel said,“ Why are you asking me, now that the LORD has turned away from you and has become your enemy?

Samuel said,“ Why then do you ask me, since Yahweh has departed from you and has become your adversary?

“ You heavens, be glad for this! You people of God, be glad! You apostles and prophets, be glad! God has judged her with the judgment she gave to you.”

You were guilty of the murder of prophets and God’s holy people. You were guilty of the blood of all who have been killed on the earth.”After these things I heard a roar in heaven. It sounded like a huge crowd shouting,“ Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God.The way he judges is true and fair. He has judged the great prostitute. She made the earth impure with her terrible sins. God has paid her back for killing those who served him.”Again they shouted,“ Hallelujah! The smoke from her fire goes up for ever and ever.”The 24 elders and the four living creatures bowed down. They worshiped God, who was sitting on the throne. They cried out,“ Amen! Hallelujah!”Then a voice came from the throne. It said,“ Praise our God, all you who serve him! Praise God, all you who have respect for him, both great and small!”Then I heard the noise of a huge crowd. It sounded like the roar of rushing waters and like loud thunder. The people were shouting,“ Hallelujah! Our Lord God is the King who rules over all.

May God rise up and scatter his enemies. May they turn and run away from him.May you, God, blow them away like smoke. As fire melts wax, so may God destroy sinful people.But may those who do what is right be glad and filled with joy when they are with him. May they be happy and joyful.

The Lord was like an enemy. He swallowed up Israel. He swallowed up all of its palaces. He destroyed its forts. He filled the people of Judah with sorrow and sadness.

The king replied,“ If the Lord doesn’t help you, where can I get help for you? From the threshing floor? From the winepress?”

“ Lord, may all your enemies be destroyed. But may all who love you be like the morning sun. May they be like the sun when it shines the brightest.” So the land was at peace for 40 years.
