When Samuel saw Saul, the Lord told him,“ Here is the man of whom I spoke to you! He it is who shall restrain my people.”

撒母耳看见扫罗的时候，耶和华对他说：“看哪，这人就是我对你所说的，他必治理我的民。”

撒母耳看见扫罗的时候，耶和华对他说：“看哪，这就是我对你所说的人，他必治理我的百姓。”

撒母耳看见扫罗的时候，耶和华对他说：“看哪，这就是我对你所说的人，他必治理我的百姓。”

撒母耳看见扫罗的时候，耶和华就对他说：“这就是我对你说的那个人，他将统治我的子民。”

撒母耳看见了扫罗，耶和华就对撒母耳说：“你看，这就是我对你所说的那人，他要统治我的子民。”

当撒母耳看见扫罗时，耶和华就对撒母耳说：“看哪，这就是我对你所说的那个人！这人将统治我的子民。”

撒母耳看見掃羅的時候，耶和華對他說：「看哪，這人就是我對你所說的，他必治理我的民。」

When Samuel caught sight of Saul, the Lord said to him,“ This is the man I spoke to you about; he will govern my people.”

When Samuel saw a man coming toward him, the Lord spoke to Samuel again. He said,“ He is the man I told you about. His name is Saul. He will govern my people.”

When Samuel saw Saul, the Lord said,“ That’s the man I told you about! He will rule my people.”

When Samuel saw Saul, the LORD told him,“ Here is the man I told you about; he will govern my people.”

When Samuel saw Saul, the Lord said to him,“ Behold, the man of whom I spoke to you! This one shall rule over My people.”

So when Samuel saw Saul, the Lord said to him,“ There he is, the man of whom I spoke to you. This one shall reign over My people.”

And when Samuel saw Saul, Jehovah said unto him, Behold, the man of whom I spake to thee! this same shall have authority over my people.

When Samuel saw Saul, the Lord told him,“ Here is the man I told you about; he will rule over My people.”

And when Samuel saw Saul, the LORD said unto him, Behold the man whom I spake to thee of! this same shall reign over my people.

When Samuel saw Saul, the LORD said,“ Here is the man that I told you about! He will rule over my people.”

When Samuel saw Saul, Yahweh said to him,“ Behold, the man of whom I spoke to you! He will have authority over my people.”

I gave you a king in my anger, and I took him away in my wrath.

Then they asked for a king, and God gave them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years.

For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval,for he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer.

When they came, he looked on Eliab and thought,“ Surely the Lord’s anointed is before him.”But the Lord said to Samuel,“ Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”Then Jesse called Abinadab and made him pass before Samuel. And he said,“ Neither has the Lord chosen this one.”Then Jesse made Shammah pass by. And he said,“ Neither has the Lord chosen this one.”And Jesse made seven of his sons pass before Samuel. And Samuel said to Jesse,“ The Lord has not chosen these.”Then Samuel said to Jesse,“ Are all your sons here?” And he said,“ There remains yet the youngest, but behold, he is keeping the sheep.” And Samuel said to Jesse,“ Send and get him, for we will not sit down till he comes here.”And he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy and had beautiful eyes and was handsome. And the Lord said,“ Arise, anoint him, for this is he.”

As soon as it began to grow dark at the gates of Jerusalem before the Sabbath, I commanded that the doors should be shut and gave orders that they should not be opened until after the Sabbath. And I stationed some of my servants at the gates, that no load might be brought in on the Sabbath day.

And I declare to him that I am about to punish his house forever, for the iniquity that he knew, because his sons were blaspheming God, and he did not restrain them.

And I confronted them and cursed them and beat some of them and pulled out their hair. And I made them take an oath in the name of God, saying,“ You shall not give your daughters to their sons, or take their daughters for your sons or for yourselves.

But worthless men are all like thorns that are thrown away, for they cannot be taken with the hand;but the man who touches them arms himself with iron and the shaft of a spear, and they are utterly consumed with fire.”
