Keep your life free from the love of money. Be satisfied with what you have, for he himself has said, I will never leave you or abandon you.Therefore, we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?

Give us today our daily bread.

“ Therefore I tell you: Don’t worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food and the body more than clothing?Consider the birds of the sky: They don’t sow or reap or gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you worth more than they?Can any of you add one moment to his life span by worrying?And why do you worry about clothes? Observe how the wildflowers of the field grow: They don’t labor or spin thread.Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was adorned like one of these.If that’s how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and thrown into the furnace tomorrow, won’t he do much more for you— you of little faith?So don’t worry, saying,‘ What will we eat?’ or‘ What will we drink?’ or‘ What will we wear?’For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you.

Then Jacob made a vow:“ If God will be with me and watch over me during this journey I’m making, if he provides me with food to eat and clothing to wear,

For the LORD your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this immense wilderness. The LORD your God has been with you these past forty years, and you have lacked nothing.’

I know that there is nothing better for them than to rejoice and enjoy the good life.It is also the gift of God whenever anyone eats, drinks, and enjoys all his efforts.

Keep falsehood and deceitful words far from me. Give me neither poverty nor wealth; feed me with the food I need.Otherwise, I might have too much and deny you, saying,“ Who is the LORD?” or I might have nothing and steal, profaning the name of my God.

Then he blessed Joseph and said: The God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God who has been my shepherd all my life to this day,

He humbled you by letting you go hungry; then he gave you manna to eat, which you and your ancestors had not known, so that you might learn that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.Your clothing did not wear out, and your feet did not swell these forty years.

There is nothing better for a person than to eat, drink, and enjoy his work. I have seen that even this is from God’s hand,because who can eat and who can enjoy life apart from him?For to the person who is pleasing in his sight, he gives wisdom, knowledge, and joy; but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and accumulating in order to give to the one who is pleasing in God’s sight. This too is futile and a pursuit of the wind.

Know well the condition of your flock, and pay attention to your herds,for wealth is not forever; not even a crown lasts for all time.When hay is removed and new growth appears and the grain from the hills is gathered in,lambs will provide your clothing, and goats, the price of a field;there will be enough goat’s milk for your food— food for your household and nourishment for your female servants.
