耶和华使犹大四围的列国都甚恐惧，不敢与约沙法争战。

他们见了这城就惊奇丧胆，急忙逃跑。他们在那里被战兢疼痛抓住，好像产难的妇人一样。

约旦河西亚摩利人的诸王和靠海迦南人的诸王，听见耶和华在以色列人前面使约旦河的水干了，等到我们过去，他们的心因以色列人的缘故就消化了，不再有胆气。

对他们说：“我知道耶和华已经把这地赐给你们，并且因你们的缘故我们都惊慌了。这地的一切居民在你们面前心都消化了；因为我们听见你们出埃及的时候，耶和华怎样在你们前面使红海的水干了，并且你们怎样待约旦河东的两个亚摩利王西宏和噩，将他们尽行毁灭。我们一听见这些事，心就消化了。因你们的缘故，并无一人有胆气。耶和华你们的神本是上天下地的神。

统兵的君王逃跑了，逃跑了；在家等候的妇女分受所夺的。

于是在营中、在田野、在众民内都有战兢，防兵和掠兵也都战兢，地也震动，战兢之势甚大。

因为主使亚兰人的军队听见车马的声音，是大军的声音；他们就彼此说：“这必是以色列王贿买赫人的诸王和埃及人的诸王来攻击我们。”所以，在黄昏的时候他们起来逃跑，撇下帐棚、马、驴，营盘照旧，只顾逃命。那些长大麻风的到了营边，进了帐棚，吃了喝了，且从其中拿出金银和衣服来，去收藏了；回来又进了一座帐棚，从其中拿出财物来去收藏了。

他的磐石必因惊吓挪去；他的首领必因大旗惊惶。这是那有火在锡安、有炉在耶路撒冷的耶和华说的。

从今日起，我要使天下万民听见你的名声都惊恐惧怕，且因你发颤伤恸。”

众人就出去，掳掠亚兰人的营盘。于是一细亚细面卖银一舍客勒，二细亚大麦也卖银一舍客勒，正如耶和华所说的。

惊吓的声音常在他耳中；在平安时，抢夺的必临到他那里。

又对约书亚说：“耶和华果然将那全地交在我们手中；那地的一切居民在我们面前心都消化了。”

约沙法和他的百姓就来收取敌人的财物，在尸首中见了许多财物、珍宝，他们剥脱下来的多得不可携带；因为甚多，直收取了三日。

你的绳索松开：不能栽稳桅杆，也不能扬起篷来。那时许多掳来的物被分了；瘸腿的把掠物夺去了。

耶和华的灵大大感动参孙，他就下到亚实基伦，击杀了三十个人，夺了他们的衣裳，将衣裳给了猜出谜语的人。参孙发怒，就上父家去了。

然而，靠着爱我们的主，在这一切的事上已经得胜有余了。
