在位之八年、年尚幼、始尋求其祖大衛之天主、十二年、始潔猶大地及耶路撒冷、自其中除諸邱壇、諸亞舍拉、諸偶像、及鎔鑄之形像、王使人毀巴力祭臺、斫高設其上之日像、斫諸亞舍拉、碎諸偶像、及鎔鑄之形像、搗之成粉、撒於祭偶像者之塚、以死祭司之骸骨、焚於偶像之壇、如是潔猶大地及耶路撒冷、在瑪拿西、以法蓮、西緬、延及拿弗他利諸邑、及其四周破壞之處、毀諸祭壇、斫諸亞舍拉、碎諸偶像、搗之成粉、在以色列遍地斫諸日像、乃歸耶路撒冷、○

曰、噫、爾盈諸詭詐奸惡、乃魔之子、眾善之敵、爾亂主之正道不已乎、

皆歌頌主之道、因主之榮耀至大、

此事既畢、所有以色列眾、往猶大諸邑、毀偶像、斫諸亞舍拉、在猶大、便雅憫、以法蓮、瑪拿西遍地、廢崇邱、拆祭壇、滅之淨盡、然後以色列人眾各返故邑、各歸其業、

則可因全能之主而樂、得仰面於天主、

因我謹守主道、未嘗作惡以違背我天主、主之一切法度、常在我前、主之律例、我永不遺棄、

誰為智者而明此事乎、孰具聰明而知之乎、主之道無不正、義人履之、罪人顛仆其中、或作主之道無不公正善人履之惡人顛仆其上誰有智慧能明此理誰有聰明能知此事

行動正直、遵行主之律法者、此等人便為有福、

除異邦神之祭壇、及邱壇、毀柱像、斷諸亞舍拉、

緣爾當富有之時、不歡心樂意奉事主爾之天主、
