in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.

We don’t want Satan to outsmart us. We know how he does his evil work.

“ Simon, Simon, look out. Satan has asked to sift you like wheat.

But I fear that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your minds may be seduced from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.

Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the schemes of the devil.For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this darkness, against evil, spiritual forces in the heavens.

In their case, the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Satan rose up against Israel and incited David to count the people of Israel.So David said to Joab and the commanders of the troops,“ Go and count Israel from Beer-sheba to Dan and bring a report to me so I can know their number.”

Then the LORD said to Satan,“ Have you considered my servant Job? No one else on earth is like him, a man of perfect integrity, who fears God and turns away from evil. He still retains his integrity, even though you incited me against him, to destroy him for no good reason.”

Now when it was time for supper, the devil had already put it into the heart of Judas, Simon Iscariot’s son, to betray him.

Do not deprive one another— except when you agree for a time, to devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again; otherwise, Satan may tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

I say to the rest of you in Thyatira, who do not hold this teaching, who haven’t known“ the so-called secrets of Satan”— as they say— I am not putting any other burden on you.

All those who live on the earth will worship it, everyone whose name was not written from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slaughtered.
