We are not trying to commend ourselves to you again, but are giving you an opportunity to take pride in us, so that you can answer those who take pride in what is seen rather than in what is in the heart.

We are not trying to make an appeal to you again. But we are giving you a chance to take pride in us. Some people take pride in their looks rather than what’s in their hearts. If you take pride in us, you will be able to answer them.

Are we commending ourselves to you again? No, we are giving you a reason to be proud of us, so you can answer those who brag about having a spectacular ministry rather than having a sincere heart.

我們哪是再開始推薦自己呢？難道我們還像有些人需要人的薦書給你們，或是你們的薦書給人麼？

你們對我們雖只有幾分的明白，我還盼望你們會徹底明白，明白在我們主耶穌的日子、我們是你們所誇耀的，正如你們是我們所誇耀的一樣。

但我現在所作的、將來還要作，好截掉那些願得機會之人的機會，使他們在所誇口的事上能被人看出是企圖要跟我們平等。這種人是假使徒，是欺詐的工作者，是化裝為基督使徒的。這並不希奇：因為撒但自己也化裝為亮光之天使啊！所以他的僕役若化裝為正義之僕役，也算不了大事啊！他們的結局總會跟他們的行為相等對的。我再說吧，不要有人以我為糊塗；縱然如此，也要就你們所以我為糊塗的來接納我啊，讓我也可以稍微地誇口！

是那些想要在肉體上誇體面的、才勉強你們受割禮呢；這不過是要避免為基督的十字架受逼迫罷了。因為連那些受割禮的、他們自己也不嚴守律法，卻想要叫你們受割禮，好拿你們的肉體來誇口。至於我呢、我斷不拿別的來誇口，只誇我們主耶穌基督的十字架；藉着這十字架，就我而論、世界是釘了十字架了；就世界而論、我也釘了十字架了。

我不得不誇口。誇口固然是無益，但我如今卻要進一步、講到主所賜的顯象和啓示。我知道有一個屬於基督的人、十四年前、這樣的一個人被攫到第三層天去；是連身體麼，我不知道；是不連身體麼，我不知道，上帝知道。我不過知道這麼一個人，或連身體、或不帶身體、我都不知道，上帝知道；他曾被攫到樂園去，聽到了不能言傳的話語、是人不可以說的。為了這麼一個人、我倒要誇口；但為了我自己呢、除了種種的軟弱以外、我都不要誇口。使我想要誇口，也不會做糊塗人哪，因為我要說實話；只是我惜口不說，恐怕有人把我評估得太高、過於他所看見我的、或是從我聽見的。故此、為要使我不至於因這些啓示之高超性而過於高抬自己，便有一種刺痛給了我、在肉身上、就是撒但的使者、來折磨我，免得我過於高抬自己。為了這事、我曾三次求過主、叫這刺痛離開我。他對我說：『我的恩是夠你用的；因為能力是在軟弱上才顯得完全的。』所以我頂喜歡、寧可拿種種軟弱來誇口，好讓基督的能力來住在我身上。

主賜權柄、是要建立你們，不是要攻倒你們。我就使為我們這權柄稍微逾分地誇口，也不覺得慚愧，

我們乃是在各樣事上證明自己作為上帝的僕役：用大堅忍、在苦難艱難困迫中、

這不是說我們敢跟那稱許自己的一些人同列或相比。不過他們拿自己度量自己、拿自己跟自己相比、總是不聰明的。

讓別人誇獎你吧！可別你親口自誇哦！讓外人稱讚吧！可別你親嘴自讚哦！

我成了糊塗人，是你們強逼我的。我本該受你們稱許才是呢。我雖算不了甚麼，卻沒有一件趕不上那些超等的「使徒」啊。

因為不是自己稱許的蒙試驗為可取，乃是主所稱許的才蒙試驗為可取。
