I really don’t need to write to you about this ministry of giving for the believers in Jerusalem.

關於供給聖徒的事，我本來不必寫信給你們；

關於供給聖徒的事，我本來不必寫信給你們；

關於捐助聖徒的事，其實我不必再寫信提醒你們，

關於供應聖徒的事，我本來沒有寫信給你們的必要，

論到供應聖徒的事、寫信給你們、於我是多餘的。

關於服事聖徒的事，其實我不必給你們寫什麼，

論供事聖徒、毋庸書以遺爾、

言及施濟聖徒、余毋庸丁寧、

論及周濟聖徒之事、我無庸書以囑爾、

其實關於周濟聖徒之事、應無須吾之喋喋也。

There is no need for me to write to you about this service to the Lord’s people.

I don’t need to write to you about giving to the Lord’s people.

Now it is superfluous for me to write to you about the ministry for the saints,

For as touching the ministering to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you:

For as touching the ministering to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you:

For it is not necessary for me to write you about this service to the saints,

It is indeed unnecessary for me to write to you concerning the service to the saints,

Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone— especially to those in the family of faith.

So two good things will result from this ministry of giving— the needs of the believers in Jerusalem will be met, and they will joyfully express their thanks to God.As a result of your ministry, they will give glory to God. For your generosity to them and to all believers will prove that you are obedient to the Good News of Christ.And they will pray for you with deep affection because of the overflowing grace God has given to you.

But we don’t need to write to you about the importance of loving each other, for God himself has taught you to love one another.Indeed, you already show your love for all the believers throughout Macedonia. Even so, dear brothers and sisters, we urge you to love them even more.

They begged us again and again for the privilege of sharing in the gift for the believers in Jerusalem.They even did more than we had hoped, for their first action was to give themselves to the Lord and to us, just as God wanted them to do.So we have urged Titus, who encouraged your giving in the first place, to return to you and encourage you to finish this ministry of giving.Since you excel in so many ways— in your faith, your gifted speakers, your knowledge, your enthusiasm, and your love from us— I want you to excel also in this gracious act of giving.I am not commanding you to do this. But I am testing how genuine your love is by comparing it with the eagerness of the other churches.You know the generous grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that by his poverty he could make you rich.Here is my advice: It would be good for you to finish what you started a year ago. Last year you were the first who wanted to give, and you were the first to begin doing it.Now you should finish what you started. Let the eagerness you showed in the beginning be matched now by your giving. Give in proportion to what you have.Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. And give according to what you have, not what you don’t have.Of course, I don’t mean your giving should make life easy for others and hard for yourselves. I only mean that there should be some equality.Right now you have plenty and can help those who are in need. Later, they will have plenty and can share with you when you need it. In this way, things will be equal.As the Scriptures say,“ Those who gathered a lot had nothing left over, and those who gathered only a little had enough.”

Beautiful words stir my heart. I will recite a lovely poem about the king, for my tongue is like the pen of a skillful poet.

Their only suggestion was that we keep on helping the poor, which I have always been eager to do.

And may the Lord make us keep our promises to each other, for he has witnessed them.”

But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true— it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ.

We cannot imagine the power of the Almighty; but even though he is just and righteous, he does not destroy us.

I was circumcised when I was eight days old. I am a pure blooded citizen of Israel and a member of the tribe of Benjamin— a real Hebrew if there ever was one! I was a member of the Pharisees, who demand the strictest obedience to the Jewish law.I was so zealous that I harshly persecuted the church. And as for righteousness, I obeyed the law without fault.

Now concerning how and when all this will happen, dear brothers and sisters, we don’t really need to write you.
