The king stood by the pillar and renewed the covenant in the presence of the Lord— to follow the Lord and keep his commands, statutes and decrees with all his heart and all his soul, thus confirming the words of the covenant written in this book. Then all the people pledged themselves to the covenant.

The king stood next to his pillar. He agreed to the terms of the covenant in front of the Lord. The king promised to serve the Lord and obey his commands, directions and rules. He promised to obey them with all his heart and with all his soul. So he agreed to the terms of the covenant written down in that book. Then all the people committed themselves to the covenant as well.

And the king stood by the pillar and made a covenant before the Lord, to walk after the Lord and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people joined in the covenant.

The king took his place of authority beside the pillar and renewed the covenant in the Lord’s presence. He pledged to obey the Lord by keeping all his commands, laws, and decrees with all his heart and soul. In this way, he confirmed all the terms of the covenant that were written in the scroll, and all the people pledged themselves to the covenant.

Next, the king stood by the pillar and made a covenant in the LORD’s presence to follow the LORD and to keep his commands, his decrees, and his statutes with all his heart and with all his soul in order to carry out the words of this covenant that were written in this book; all the people agreed to the covenant.

耶何耶大使王和百姓與耶和華立約，作耶和華的子民，又使王與百姓立約。

她觀看，看哪，王照儀式站在柱旁，百夫長和號手在王旁邊，國中的眾百姓歡樂吹號。亞她利雅就撕裂衣服，喊着說：「反了！反了！」

你們要順從耶和華－你們的上帝，敬畏他，謹守他的誡命，聽從他的話，事奉他，緊緊跟隨他。

「今日你們全都要站在耶和華－你們的上帝面前，就是各領袖、族長、長老、官長、以色列所有的男子、你們的妻子兒女、你營中寄居的，從為你砍柴到為你挑水的人，為要使你進入耶和華－你上帝的約，就是耶和華－你上帝今日向你起誓所立的；這樣，他今日要立你作他的子民，他作你的上帝，是照他向你所應許的，又照他向你列祖亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各所起的誓。我不單單與你們立這約，起這誓，就是今日與我們一同站在耶和華－我們上帝面前的，而且也包括今日不在我們這裏的人。

但願賜平安的上帝，就是那憑永約之血，把羣羊的大牧人－我們主耶穌從死人中領出來的上帝，

他們要問到錫安之路，又面向那裏，說：「來吧，他們要在永不被遺忘的約中與耶和華聯合。」

「這是耶和華－你們的上帝所吩咐要教導你們的誡命、律例、典章，叫你們在所要過去得為業的地上遵行，

他們立約，要盡心盡性尋求耶和華－他們列祖的上帝。凡不尋求耶和華－以色列上帝的，無論大小、男女，必被處死。他們就大聲歡呼，吹號吹角，向耶和華起誓。

然後，他拿起約書來，念給百姓聽。他們說：「耶和華所吩咐的一切，我們都必遵行，也必聽從。」摩西把血灑在百姓身上，說：「看哪！這是立約的血，是耶和華按照這一切的命令和你們立約的憑據。」

耶和華在何烈山與以色列人立約以外，這是耶和華在摩押地吩咐摩西與以色列人立約的話。

憑誠實、公平、公義指着永生的耶和華起誓；列國就必因他蒙福，也必因他誇耀。」

王站在自己的位上，在耶和華面前立約，要盡心盡性跟從耶和華，遵守他的誡命、法度、律例，實行這書上所記這約的話；又使所有住耶路撒冷和便雅憫的人都服從這約。於是耶路撒冷的居民都遵行上帝，就是他們列祖之上帝的約。約西亞從以色列各處把一切可憎之物盡都除掉，使以色列境內的人都事奉耶和華－他們的上帝。約西亞在世的日子，眾人都跟從耶和華－他們列祖的上帝，總不離開。

耶何耶大與眾百姓，又與王立約，要作耶和華的子民。

我勸你因上帝誓言的緣故，當遵守王的命令。

摩西下山，向百姓陳述耶和華一切的命令和典章。眾百姓齊聲說：「耶和華所吩咐的一切，我們都必遵行。」

「以色列啊，現在耶和華－你的上帝向你要的是甚麼呢？只要你敬畏耶和華－你的上帝，遵行他一切的道，愛他，盡心盡性事奉耶和華－你的上帝，

因這一切，我們立確實的約，寫在冊上。我們的領袖、利未人和祭司都用了印。

耶和華的律法全備，使人甦醒；耶和華的法度確定，使愚蒙人有智慧。耶和華的訓詞正直，使人心快活；耶和華的命令清潔，使人眼目明亮。耶和華的典章真實，全然公義，敬畏耶和華是純潔的，存到永遠，

現在，我們要與我們的上帝立約，送走所有的妻子和她們所生的，照着主和那些因我們上帝誡命戰兢之人所議定的，按律法去行。

百姓對約書亞說：「我們必事奉耶和華－我們的上帝，聽從他的話。」那日，約書亞就與百姓立約，在示劍為他們制定律例典章。

「你們若留心聽從我今日所吩咐你們的誡命，愛耶和華－你們的上帝，盡心盡性事奉他，

其餘的百姓、祭司、利未人、門口的守衛、歌唱的、殿役，所有與鄰邦民族分別出來、歸服上帝律法的，以及他們的妻子、兒女，凡有知識、能明白的，都隨從他們貴族的弟兄發咒起誓，要遵行上帝藉他僕人摩西所賜的律法，謹守遵行耶和華－我們主的一切誡命、典章、律例。我們不把我們的女兒嫁給這地的居民，也不為我們的兒子娶他們的女兒。這地的民族若在安息日，或甚麼聖日，帶了貨物或糧食來賣，我們必不買。每逢第七年必不耕種，凡欠我們債的必不追討。我們又為自己定例，每年各人捐獻三分之一舍客勒，作為我們上帝殿之用：為供餅、常獻的素祭和燔祭，安息日、初一、節期所獻的祭和聖物，以色列的贖罪祭，以及我們上帝殿裏一切工作之用。我們的祭司、利未人和百姓都抽籤，每年按父家定期將奉獻的木柴帶到我們上帝的殿裏，照着律法上所寫的，燒在耶和華－我們上帝的壇上。每年我們又將地上初熟的土產和各樣樹上初熟的果子，都奉到耶和華的殿裏。我們又照律法上所寫的，將我們頭胎的兒子和首生的牛羊都奉到我們上帝的殿，交給在上帝殿裏供職的祭司；並將初熟麥子所磨的麵和舉祭、各樣樹上的果子、新酒與新油奉給祭司，收在我們上帝殿的庫房裏，又把我們土地所產的十分之一奉給利未人，因利未人在我們一切城鎮的土產中當取十分之一。利未人取十分之一的時候，亞倫的子孫中當有一個祭司與利未人同在。利未人也當從十分之一中取十分之一，奉到我們上帝的殿，收在庫房的倉裏。因以色列人和利未人要把禮物，就是五穀、新酒和新油，帶到收存聖所器皿的倉裏，供職的祭司、門口的守衛、歌唱的都在那裏。我們絕不會不顧我們上帝的殿。

摩西召集以色列眾人，對他們說：「以色列啊，要聽我今日在你們耳中所吩咐的律例典章，要學習，謹守遵行。耶和華－我們的上帝在何烈山與我們立約。這約耶和華不是與我們列祖立的，而是與我們，就是今日在這裏還活着的人立的。

你要盡心、盡性、盡力愛耶和華－你的上帝。

所以上帝指責他們說：「主說，看哪，日子將到，我要與以色列家和猶大家另立新的約；不像我拉着他們祖宗的手領他們出埃及地的時候，與他們所立的約；因為他們不恆心守我的約，所以我也不理他們；這是主說的。主又說：那些日子以後，我與以色列家所立的約是這樣：我要將我的律法放在他們的心思裏，寫在他們的心上；我要作他們的上帝，他們要作我的子民。他們各人不用教導自己的鄉親和自己的弟兄，說：你要認識主；因為從最小的到最大的，他們都要認識我。我要寬恕他們的不義，絕不再記得他們的罪惡。」既然上帝提到「新的約」，那麼第一個約就成為舊的了；而那漸舊漸衰的必然很快消逝了。

這些法度、律例、典章是摩西在以色列人出埃及後對他們說的，

並新約的中保耶穌，以及所灑的血；這血所說的信息比亞伯的血所說的更美。

她觀看，看哪，王站在殿門的柱旁，百夫長和號手在王旁邊，國中的眾百姓都歡樂吹號，又有歌唱的人用樂器領人歌唱讚美。亞她利雅就撕裂衣服，喊着說：「反了！反了！」

現在我心中有意與耶和華－以色列的上帝立約，好使他的烈怒轉離我們。

「老師，律法上的誡命哪一條是最大的呢？」耶穌對他說：「你要盡心、盡性、盡意愛主－你的上帝。

你若忘記耶和華－你的上帝，隨從別神，事奉它們，敬拜它們，我今日警告你們，你們必定滅亡。
