大馬士革的河亞罷拿和法珥法豈不比以色列的一切水更好嗎？我在那裏沐浴不得潔淨嗎？」於是氣忿忿地轉身去了。

大馬士革的亞瑪拿河和法珥法河豈不比以色列的一切水更好嗎？我難道不可以在那裏沐浴而得潔淨嗎？」於是他生氣，轉身走了。

大馬色之河、亞罷拿與法珥法、較以色列諸水、豈不尤佳乎、我不可浴於彼、而得潔乎、遂忿然反身而去、

大馬色之河、亞巴拿與法法、較之以色列地之水、豈非尤善、濯身於彼、豈不能成潔乎。遂怒欲歸。

大瑪色之河亞罷拿與法珥法、較以色列地諸水、豈不更美乎、我不可浴身於彼而得潔乎、於是轉身忿怒而去、

and as those who bore the ark came to the Jordan, and the feet of the priests who bore the ark dipped in the edge of the water( for the Jordan overflows all its banks during the whole time of harvest),that the waters which came down from upstream stood still, and rose in a heap very far away at Adam, the city that is beside Zaretan. So the waters that went down into the Sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, failed, and were cut off; and the people crossed over opposite Jericho.Then the priests who bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood firm on dry ground in the midst of the Jordan; and all Israel crossed over on dry ground, until all the people had crossed completely over the Jordan.

So Naaman said,“ Then, if not, please let your servant be given two mule-loads of earth; for your servant will no longer offer either burnt offering or sacrifice to other gods, but to the Lord.

Then he took the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and struck the water, and said,“ Where is the Lord God of Elijah?” And when he also had struck the water, it was divided this way and that; and Elisha crossed over.

Again he measured one thousand and brought me through; the water came up to my waist.Again he measured one thousand, and it was a river that I could not cross; for the water was too deep, water in which one must swim, a river that could not be crossed.He said to me,“ Son of man, have you seen this?” Then he brought me and returned me to the bank of the river.When I returned, there, along the bank of the river, were very many trees on one side and the other.Then he said to me:“ This water flows toward the eastern region, goes down into the valley, and enters the sea. When it reaches the sea, its waters are healed.

The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger, And his glory is to overlook a transgression.

And in that day it shall be That living waters shall flow from Jerusalem, Half of them toward the eastern sea And half of them toward the western sea; In both summer and winter it shall occur.

Now Elijah took his mantle, rolled it up, and struck the water; and it was divided this way and that, so that the two of them crossed over on dry ground.
