且由是錫以寶貴豐厚之許、俾爾得脫在世因慾之敗壞、克與夫上帝之性、

許我尊榮景福、不為斯世惡俗所囿、於上帝之性情、是則是傚、

又以己之榮與德、許我以至大至寶之恩、使我儕我儕原文作爾曹賴此得脫斯世由慾而生之敗壞、得與天主同性、

賴斯大榮大德、吾人復受有無上無疆之恩諾、俾吾人脫世俗縱情恣慾之腐敗惡習、得躋於神化之境、而融於天主之性。

Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

He has also given us his very great and valuable promises. He did it so you could share in his nature. You can share in it because you’ve escaped from the evil in the world. This evil is caused by sinful desires.

又要将你们的心志改换一新，并且穿上新人；这新人是照着神的形像造的，有真理的仁义和圣洁。

我必用清水洒在你们身上，你们就洁净了。我要洁净你们，使你们脱离一切的污秽，弃掉一切的偶像。我也要赐给你们一个新心，将新灵放在你们里面，又从你们的肉体中除掉石心，赐给你们肉心。我必将我的灵放在你们里面，使你们顺从我的律例，谨守遵行我的典章。

生身的父都是暂随己意管教我们；惟有万灵的父管教我们，是要我们得益处，使我们在他的圣洁上有份。

我们众人既然敞着脸得以看见主的荣光，好像从镜子里返照，就变成主的形状，荣上加荣，如同从主的灵变成的。

穿上了新人。这新人在知识上渐渐更新，正如造他主的形像。

又说：“你们务要从他们中间出来，与他们分别；不要沾不洁净的物，我就收纳你们。我要作你们的父；你们要作我的儿女。”这是全能的主说的。亲爱的弟兄啊，我们既有这等应许，就当洁净自己，除去身体、灵魂一切的污秽，敬畏神，得以成圣。

他们说虚妄矜夸的大话，用肉身的情欲和邪淫的事引诱那些刚才脱离妄行的人。他们应许人得以自由，自己却作败坏的奴仆，因为人被谁制伏就是谁的奴仆。倘若他们因认识主救主耶稣基督，得以脱离世上的污秽，后来又在其中被缠住、制伏，他们末后的景况就比先前更不好了。

顺着情欲撒种的，必从情欲收败坏；顺着圣灵撒种的，必从圣灵收永生。

凡接待他的，就是信他名的人，他就赐他们权柄作神的儿女。这等人不是从血气生的，不是从情欲生的，也不是从人意生的，乃是从神生的。

如今耶稣所得的职任是更美的，正如他作更美之约的中保；这约原是凭更美之应许立的。那前约若没有瑕疵，就无处寻求后约了。所以主指责他的百姓说：“日子将到，我要与以色列家和犹大家另立新约，不像我拉着他们祖宗的手，领他们出埃及的时候，与他们所立的约。因为他们不恒心守我的约，我也不理他们。这是主说的。”主又说：“那些日子以后，我与以色列家所立的约乃是这样：我要将我的律法放在他们里面，写在他们心上；我要作他们的神；他们要作我的子民。他们不用各人教导自己的乡邻和自己的弟兄，说：‘你该认识主’；因为他们从最小的到至大的，都必认识我。我要宽恕他们的不义，不再记念他们的罪愆。”

为此，他作了新约的中保，既然受死赎了人在前约之时所犯的罪过，便叫蒙召之人得着所应许永远的产业。

作耶稣基督仆人和使徒的西门彼得写信给那因我们的神和救主耶稣基督之义、与我们同得一样宝贵信心的人。

你们存这样的心，从今以后就可以不从人的情欲，只从神的旨意在世度余下的光阴。因为往日随从外邦人的心意行邪淫、恶欲、醉酒、荒宴、群饮，并可恶拜偶像的事，时候已经够了。

你们中间的争战斗殴是从哪里来的呢？不是从你们百体中战斗之私欲来的吗？你们贪恋，还是得不着；你们杀害嫉妒，又斗殴争战，也不能得。你们得不着，是因为你们不求。你们求也得不着，是因为你们妄求，要浪费在你们的宴乐中。

神的应许，不论有多少，在基督都是是的。所以藉着他也都是实在的，叫神因我们得荣耀。

所应许的原是向亚伯拉罕和他子孙说的。神并不是说“众子孙”，指着许多人，乃是说“你那一个子孙”，指着一个人，就是基督。

他们是以色列人；那儿子的名分、荣耀、诸约、律法、礼仪、应许都是他们的。
