Absalom came to the king, and said,“ See now, your servant has sheep shearers. Please let the king and his servants go with your servant.”

他去见王，说：“我的工人正在剪羊毛，请王和众臣仆跟我一起去吧。”

押沙龙去见王说：“看哪！现在你的仆人雇了人剪羊毛；请王和王的臣仆与我一同去。”

押沙龍來見王，說：「現在有人為僕人剪羊毛，請王和王的臣僕與僕人同去。」

押沙龍來到王那裏，說：「看哪，有人正為你的僕人剪羊毛，請王和王的臣僕與你的僕人同去。」

他去見王，說：「我的工人正在剪羊毛，請王和眾臣僕跟我一起去吧。」

押沙龍去見王說：“看哪！現在你的僕人雇了人剪羊毛；請王和王的臣僕與我一同去。”

押沙龍來見王說：『看哪，現在有剪羊毛的人為僕人剪羊毛；請王和王的臣僕跟僕人一同去。』

押沙龍來見王，說：「看哪，現在有人為僕人剪羊毛，請王和王的臣僕們與僕人同去。」

乃覲王曰、有人為僕剪羊毛、請王及臣僕、與爾僕偕往、

覲王曰、臣僕僱人往剪羊毛、請王及群臣與我偕行。

押沙龍見王曰、有人為僕翦羊毛、請王與王之臣僕、同往筵宴、

Absalom went to the king and said,“ Your servant has had shearers come. Will the king and his attendants please join me?”

Absalom went to the king. He said,“ I’ve had my workers come to clip the wool. Will you and your attendants please join me?”

And Absalom came to the king and said,“ Behold, your servant has sheepshearers. Please let the king and his servants go with your servant.”

He went to the king and said,“ My sheep shearers are now at work. Would the king and his servants please come to celebrate the occasion with me?”

Then he went to the king and said,“ Your servant has just hired sheepshearers. Will the king and his servants please come with your servant?”

And Absalom came to the king and said,“ Behold now, your servant has sheepshearers; may the king and his servants please go with your servant.”

Then Absalom came to the king and said,“ Kindly note, your servant has sheepshearers; please, let the king and his servants go with your servant.”

And Absalom came to the king, and said, Behold now, thy servant hath sheep- shearers; let the king, I pray thee, and his servants go with thy servant.

Then he went to the king and said,“ Your servant has just hired sheepshearers. Will the king and his servants please come with your servant?”

And Absalom came to the king, and said, Behold now, thy servant hath sheepshearers; let the king, I beseech thee, and his servants go with thy servant.

Then Absalom went to the king and said,“ My shearers have begun their work. Let the king and his servants go with me.”

His mouth was smooth as butter, but his heart was war. His words were softer than oil, yet they were drawn swords.

Everyone lies to his neighbor. They speak with flattering lips, and with a double heart.

David said to Uriah,“ Go down to your house and wash your feet.” Uriah departed out of the king’s house, and a gift from the king was sent after him.But Uriah slept at the door of the king’s house with all the servants of his lord, and didn’t go down to his house.When they had told David, saying,“ Uriah didn’t go down to his house,” David said to Uriah,“ Haven’t you come from a journey? Why didn’t you go down to your house?”Uriah said to David,“ The ark, Israel, and Judah, are staying in tents; and my lord Joab and the servants of my lord, are encamped in the open field. Shall I then go into my house to eat and to drink, and to lie with my wife? As you live, and as your soul lives, I will not do this thing!”David said to Uriah,“ Stay here today also, and tomorrow I will let you depart.” So Uriah stayed in Jerusalem that day, and the next day.When David had called him, he ate and drank before him; and he made him drunk. At evening, he went out to lie on his bed with the servants of his lord, but didn’t go down to his house.In the morning, David wrote a letter to Joab, and sent it by the hand of Uriah.He wrote in the letter, saying,“ Send Uriah to the forefront of the hottest battle, and retreat from him, that he may be struck, and die.”

Ishmael the son of Nethaniah went out from Mizpah to meet them, weeping all along as he went: and as he met them, he said to them,“ Come to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam.”It was so, when they came into the middle of the city, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah killed them, and cast them into the middle of the pit, he, and the men who were with him.
