Then Absalom sent secret messengers throughout the tribes of Israel to say,“ As soon as you hear the sound of the trumpets, then say,‘ Absalom is king in Hebron.’”

Then Absalom sent messengers secretly to all the tribes of Israel. They said,“ Listen for the sound of trumpets. As soon as you hear them, say,‘ Absalom has become king in Hebron.’ ”

But Absalom sent secret messengers throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying,“ As soon as you hear the sound of the trumpet, then say,‘ Absalom is king at Hebron!’”

But while he was there, he sent secret messengers to all the tribes of Israel to stir up a rebellion against the king.“ As soon as you hear the ram’s horn,” his message read,“ you are to say,‘ Absalom has been crowned king in Hebron.’”

Then Absalom sent agents throughout the tribes of Israel with this message:“ When you hear the sound of the ram’s horn, you are to say,‘ Absalom has become king in Hebron!’”

But Absalom sent spies throughout the tribes of Israel, saying,“ As soon as you hear the sound of the trumpet, then you shall say,‘ Absalom is king in Hebron!’ ”

Then Absalom sent spies throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying,“ As soon as you hear the sound of the trumpet, then you shall say,‘ Absalom reigns in Hebron!’”

But Absalom sent spies throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, As soon as ye hear the sound of the trumpet, then ye shall say, Absalom is king in Hebron.

Then Absalom sent messengers throughout the tribes of Israel with this message:“ When you hear the sound of the ram’s horn, you are to say,‘ Absalom has become king in Hebron!’”

But Absalom sent spies throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, As soon as ye hear the sound of the trumpet, then ye shall say, Absalom reigneth in Hebron.

Then Absalom sent spies through all the tribes of Israel who said,“ When you hear the sound of the horn, you may assume that Absalom rules in Hebron.”

But Absalom sent spies throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying,“ As soon as you hear the sound of the trumpet, then you shall say,‘ Absalom is king in Hebron!’”

嗣後至希伯崙、欲使掃羅國祚歸於大闢、循耶和華命、有群眾預備以戰、其數如左。

昔押沙龍為我沐膏、今亡於陳、爾何緘默、不導王歸。

諭僕從曰、約押田疇與我接壤、田有麰麥、汝往縱火以焚。僕遂焚之。

維彼惡人、雨置諸險滑之途、擲諸死亡之地兮、猝然喪敗、殲滅殆盡、

嗣後大闢問耶和華曰、我可往猶大邑乎。耶和華曰、往哉。大闢曰、當往何邑。曰、希伯崙。

以色列族長老、既至希伯崙、覲王大闢、於耶和華前、與之立約、長老以膏沐大闢、立為以色列族王、循耶和華命撒母耳之言。

大闢在希伯崙生子、長暗嫩、乃耶斯烈地之女亞希暖所出。次基利押、乃曾適拿八加密地之女亞庇該所出。三押沙龍、乃基述王達買女馬迦所出。

大闢在希伯崙為王、治理猶大族、歷七年有半。○

曰、作惡者歡呼、弗能恆久、偽善者喜樂、不過俄傾。雖峻極於天、昂頭雲外、終亦必亡、與糞壤同腐、素見之者、必曰其人安在。倏忽不見、真如夢幻、若夜間異象、頓失無所。目睹惡人、不能復覯、鄰里鄉黨、欲見無從。彼攘貧者之貨財、子孫反之、以釋其憾。所作隱慝、深入於骨、及其歸土、惡報從之。惡譬諸食物、甫入口則甚甘、藏於舌間、久含不棄、下至腹、味殊苦、如蝮之膽。其平日並吞財貨、上帝必使復吐之。或飲蛇毒而亡、或為蝮螫而死。不能飲甘泉之水、不得居酥蜜之地。雖勞而得財、不能自享、必當反之於人、不可以為悅。蓋剝奪其民、至於貧乏、則遺棄之、人所建之第宅、則強據之。其衷懷不能恬適、其嗜好不能長存。其所食無餘、其享福不永。即當隆盛之時、必遇困厄、受其虐遇者、必群起而攻擊。彼既飽其貪饕、上帝震怒、降災如下雨、使之備嘗。雖避鐵器、而傷於銅弓。利鏃白刃、深入其膽、拔而出之、不勝戰栗、災害臨之、電火焚之、居其室者、咸遇患難。天癉其惡、地罰其罪。臨難之日、凡其所有、必盡消亡。全能之上帝、施報於惡人者若此。

皆係武士、能守行伍、忠乃心、至希伯崙、欲立大闢為王、治以色列族、斯土餘民、亦同此心、

在希伯崙轄猶大族、歷七年有半、在耶路撒冷、兼轄以色列猶大二族、歷三十三年。

眾各取衣、立佈於階。使耶戶坐、吹角曰、耶戶為王。

押沙龍預囑其僕曰、待暗嫩飲酒已酣、我曰擊暗嫩、則殺之無畏、我既令爾、當強乃志、毋忝英武。

使祭司撒督、與先知拿單、沐之以膏、為以色列王、吹角曰、願所羅門王千歲。
