Zadok was there, too, and all the Levites who were with him were carrying the ark of the covenant of God. They set down the ark of God, and Abiathar offered sacrifices until all the people had finished leaving the city.

全營出發的時候，亞倫和他的兒子，把聖所和聖所的一切器具遮蓋完了以後，哥轄的子孫就要來抬；只是他們不可觸摸聖物，免得他們死亡。會幕裡這些物件是哥轄的子孫應當抬的。

亞希突的兒子撒督和亞比亞他的兒子亞希米勒作祭司長，西萊雅作書記，

示法作書記。撒督和亞比亞他作祭司長；

亞希突的兒子亞希米勒有一個兒子，名叫亞比亞他，逃過了大難，就逃去跟隨大衛。

並派七個祭司拿著七個羊角，走在約櫃的前面；到第七天，你們要繞城七次，祭司也要吹角。

神的約櫃也被搶去，以利的兩個兒子何弗尼和非尼哈也死了。

“吩咐抬約櫃的祭司從約旦河上來。”於是約書亞吩咐祭司說：“你們從約旦河上來。”抬耶和華約櫃的祭司從約旦河中間上來的時候，祭司的腳掌一提起來踏在乾地上，約旦河的水就流回原處，像以前一樣漲過兩岸。

吩咐人民說：“你們看見耶和華你們的神的約櫃，又看見抬約櫃的利未支派的祭司的時候，就要從你們所住的地方出發，跟在約櫃後面走。

這地要歸給祭司，就是撒督子孫中分別為聖的。他們守我所吩咐的職責；以色列人走迷路的時候，他們不像利未人那樣走迷路。

王又對撒督祭司說：“你不是先見嗎？平平安安地回到城裡去吧！你的兒子亞希瑪斯和亞比亞他的兒子約拿單要與你一同回去。

軍隊回到營裡，以色列的長老說：“今天耶和華為甚麼在非利士人面前擊敗我們呢？我們要把耶和華的約櫃從示羅抬到我們這裡來。約櫃一到我們中間，就會拯救我們脫離仇敵的手。”於是他們派人到示羅去，從那裡把坐在二基路伯中間萬軍之耶和華的約櫃抬來；以利的兩個兒子，何弗尼和非尼哈，也與神的約櫃一同來了。耶和華的約櫃來到營中的時候，以色列眾人就大聲歡呼，大地也迴聲響應。

抬約櫃的祭司來到約旦河，他們的腳碰到水邊的時候（原來約旦河水在收割的日子，常是漲過兩岸的），水就停住了，那從上游流下來的水立起成壘，在很遠的地方，就是在撒拉但旁邊的亞當城那裡停住；那往下流入亞拉巴海，就是鹽海的水完全被截斷；於是人民就在耶利哥的對面過了河。抬耶和華約櫃的祭司在約旦河中間的乾地上站住，等以色列眾人都在乾地上走過去，直到全國的人都完全走過了約旦河為止。

但撒督祭司、耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅，拿單先知、示每、利以和大衛的勇士都不擁護亞多尼雅。

以下這些人是他的官員：撒督的兒子亞撒利雅作祭司；示沙的兩個兒子以利何烈和亞希亞作書記；亞希律的兒子約沙法作史官；耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅統領軍隊；撒督和亞比亞他作祭司；

約書亞又吩咐祭司說：“你們要抬起約櫃，在人民前面過河去。”於是他們抬起約櫃，走在人民的前面。

那時大衛說：“神的約櫃，除了利未人以外，沒有人可以抬，因為耶和華揀選了他們抬神的約櫃，並且永遠事奉他。”

但是沒有分給哥轄的子孫，因為他們所辦的事是聖所的事，是要用肩頭抬的。

撒督祭司和亞比亞他不是都在那裡與你在一起嗎？你在王宮裡聽見的話，都要告訴撒督祭司和亞比亞他。

亞希突生撒督，撒督生亞希瑪斯，亞希瑪斯生亞撒利雅，亞撒利雅生約哈難，約哈難生亞撒利雅（這亞撒利雅曾在耶路撒冷所羅門建造的聖殿中作祭司），亞撒利雅生亞瑪利雅，亞瑪利雅生亞希突，亞希突生撒督，撒督生沙龍，

於是嫩的兒子約書亞把祭司召了來，對他們說：“你們要抬起約櫃；並派七個祭司拿著七個羊角，走在耶和華約櫃的前面。”

王任命耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅取代約押統領軍隊；又任命撒督祭司取代亞比亞他的職位。

那些抬耶和華的約櫃的人走了六步，大衛就獻一頭公牛和一隻肥畜為祭。
