When Absalom’s men came to the woman at the house, they asked,“ Where are Ahimaaz and Jonathan?” The woman answered them,“ They crossed over the brook.” The men searched but found no one, so they returned to Jerusalem.

Absalom’s men came to the house. They asked the woman,“ Where are Ahimaaz and Jonathan?” She answered,“ They went across the brook.” When the men looked around, they didn’t find anyone. So they returned to Jerusalem.

When Absalom’s servants came to the woman at the house, they said,“ Where are Ahimaaz and Jonathan?” And the woman said to them,“ They have gone over the brook of water.” And when they had sought and could not find them, they returned to Jerusalem.

When Absalom’s men arrived, they asked her,“ Have you seen Ahimaaz and Jonathan?” The woman replied,“ They were here, but they crossed over the brook.” Absalom’s men looked for them without success and returned to Jerusalem.

Absalom’s servants came to the woman at the house and asked,“ Where are Ahimaaz and Jonathan?”“ They passed by toward the water,” the woman replied to them. The men searched but did not find them, so they returned to Jerusalem.

接生婦回答法老：“希伯來婦人與埃及婦人不同；她們很有活力，接生婦還沒有來到，她們已經生產了。”

大衛對亞希米勒祭司說：“王吩咐我作一件事，對我說：‘我差派你，吩咐你去辦的這事，你不要讓任何人知道，我已經指示我的僕人在某地會面。’

無論男女，大衛都不讓一人活著帶到迦特來，他說：“恐怕他們把我們的事告訴別人，說：‘大衛作了這樣的事，他住在非利士人鄉鎮的日子，常常這樣作。’”亞吉相信了大衛，心裡說：“他在自己的族人以色列中留下了臭名，他必永遠作我的僕人了。”

耶利哥王派人到喇合那裡，說：“把那些來到你這裡，進了你家中的人帶出來，因為他們來是要窺探全地的。”但那女人已把那兩個人藏起來，還這樣回答王：“不錯，那些人到過我這裡來，但是，我不知道他們是從哪裡來的。天黑、城門快要關的時候，那些人出去了；我不知道他們到哪裡去。你們快去追趕，必可以追上他們。”

於是米甲從窗口把大衛縋下去，大衛就離開那裡逃走，逃脫了。米甲把家中的一尊神像拿來，放在床上，把頭枕在用山羊毛弄成的枕頭上，再用衣服蓋著。掃羅派人來捉拿大衛，米甲說：“他病了。”掃羅又派人去看大衛說：“你們把他連床一起抬到我這裡來，我好殺死他。”奉派的人進去，看見床上有一尊家中的神像，頭枕在用山羊毛弄成的枕頭上。掃羅問米甲：“你為甚麼這樣欺騙我，放了我的仇敵，讓他逃走呢？”米甲回答掃羅：“他對我說：‘放我走！否則我要殺死你。’”

如果你回到城裡去，對押沙龍說：‘王啊！我願作你的僕人，以前我作你父親的僕人，現在我也照樣作你的僕人。’這樣，你就可以為我破壞亞希多弗的計謀。

二人離去，上到山上，在那裡住了三天，等追趕的人回城去了；追趕的人一路搜尋他們，卻找不著。二人於是下山回去，過了約旦河，回到嫩的兒子約書亞那裡，把他們遭遇的一切事向他報告。
