吞下了他们和他们的家眷及所有可拉一伙的人和财物。

向我们发怒的时候，我们早已被他们生吞，

我要惩罚巴比伦的神明彼勒，使他吐出所吞噬的。巴比伦的城墙要倒塌，万国必不再涌向她。

现在，倘若你们认真听从我的话，遵守我的约，就必在万民中做我的子民，因为普天下都是我的。你们要归于我，作祭司之国、圣洁之邦。这些话你要告诉以色列人。’”

我底波拉做以色列之母以前，以色列的乡村人烟稀少。

但以色列人属于耶和华，雅各是祂的产业。

掌权者不是叫行善的惧怕，而是叫作恶的惧怕。你想不怕掌权的吗？就要行得正，这样你会得到称赞。要知道掌权者是上帝差遣的，对行得正的人有益处。然而，你若作恶，就该惧怕，因为他必将你绳之以法。他是上帝的仆人，代表上帝秉公行义，惩奸罚恶。

也要为所有的君王和掌权者祷告，使我们可以怀着虔诚、端正的心过和平安宁的生活。

主像敌人一样毁灭以色列，吞噬她的宫殿，夷平她的堡垒，使犹大人哀哭不止。

以致大地裂开将他们全部吞了下去，当时大火还烧灭了二百五十人——成了后人的警戒。

你和你母亲及姊妹如出一辙，都厌弃自己的丈夫和儿女。你母亲是赫人，你父亲是亚摩利人。你姐姐是撒玛利亚，她和她的女儿们住在你的北面。你妹妹是所多玛，她和她的女儿们住在你的南面。你不仅追随她们可憎的行径，还很快超过了她们。我凭我的永恒起誓，与你妹妹所多玛和她女儿们相比，你和你女儿们的行径有过之而无不及。这是主耶和华说的。看啊，你妹妹所多玛和她的女儿们傲慢狂妄，安逸饱足，对穷困的人漠不关心。

以色列人说：“巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒吞噬我们、击垮我们，把我们洗劫一空。他像海怪一样吞吃我们，饱餐我们的美物，然后把我们赶走。”
