則秋霖春雨、必降於爾土、使爾獲穀、及酒與油、以果爾腹。

又告亞哈曰、當起飲食、霖雨其零、我聞其聲。亞哈乃往、式飲式食、惟以利亞陟加密山巔、俯伏於地、屈首至足、告其僕曰、汝往哉、可觀於海。既觀而反曰、絶無一物在焉。曰、再往、至七次乃已。迨及七次、則反曰、有雲甚小、自海而起、大約人掌。曰、往告亞哈云、當備車而往、恐為雨所阻。其間風雲驟起、黑蔽霄漢、沛然下雨、亞哈乘車、往耶斯烈、

六畜無苑、宛轉哀鳴、群羊皆斃、

郇邑之民、賴爾之上帝耶和華、欣喜懽忭、春雨秋霖、無不時若、同於前日、我使之然、

異邦人所奉之偶像、豈能使天沛以膏澤、降以甘霖、爾耶和華為我上帝、肇造萬物、故我賴爾。

不肯自謂我之上帝耶和華、春雨秋霖、無不時若、迨屆穡期、俾我能享、故當畏其威焉。斯民犯罪、福祉不降。
