let seven of his male descendants be given to us to be killed and their bodies exposed before the Lord at Gibeah of Saul— the Lord’s chosen one.” So the king said,“ I will give them to you.”

So let seven of the males in his family line be given to us. We’ll kill them. We’ll put their dead bodies out in the open in the sight of the Lord. We’ll do it at Gibeah of Saul. Saul was the Lord’ s chosen king.” So King David said,“ I’ll give seven males to you.”

let seven of his sons be given to us, so that we may hang them before the Lord at Gibeah of Saul, the chosen of the Lord.” And the king said,“ I will give them.”

So let seven of Saul’s sons be handed over to us, and we will execute them before the Lord at Gibeon, on the mountain of the Lord.”“ All right,” the king said,“ I will do it.”

撒母耳對百姓說：「這就是耶和華為你們選的人。在以色列沒有人能比得上他。」眾人高呼：「願王萬歲！」

掃羅返回基比亞自己的家時，有一群被上帝感動的勇士跟隨他。

對摩西說：「把為首的人都抓起來，當著我的面在大白天處死他們，以消除我對以色列人的怒氣。」於是，摩西對以色列的審判官說：「你們各自把權下與巴力·毗珥苟合的人處死。」

雅比的使者來到掃羅的家鄉基比亞，把他們的情況告訴眾人，大家聽了放聲大哭。

隨後約書亞將這五個王殺死，把屍體分別掛在五棵樹上，直到傍晚。

三天之內，法老必砍下你的頭，把你掛在木頭上，鳥要來吃你的肉。」

約書亞又將艾城王的屍體掛在樹上示眾。黃昏時，他才吩咐人把屍體取下來丟在城門口，又在屍體上堆了一大堆石頭。石堆至今還在。

「明天這個時候，我會從便雅憫境內差遣一個人到你這裡，你要膏立他做我以色列子民的首領，他會從非利士人手中把我的子民拯救出來，因為我已聽到我子民的呼求，我要施恩給他們。」撒母耳看見掃羅的時候，耶和華就對他說：「這就是我對你說的那個人，他將統治我的子民。」

猶大把錢扔在聖殿裡，出去上吊自盡了。

這十人是猶太人的仇敵哈曼的兒子、哈米大他的孫子。但猶太人沒有動他們的財物。

以斯帖回答說：「王若願意，就請恩准書珊城的猶太人明天仍執行今天的諭旨，並把哈曼十個兒子的屍體吊在木架上。」王允准了，便在書珊城頒佈諭旨，哈曼十個兒子的屍體便被吊了起來。

撒母耳把一瓶膏油倒在掃羅的頭上，親吻他，說：「耶和華已經膏立你做祂子民的首領。

大衛的一個部下看見，就向約押稟告說：「我看見押沙龍正吊在橡樹上。」

亞希多弗見自己的提議不被接納，便備上驢，啟程回鄉，安頓好家事以後，就自縊身亡了。他被安葬在他父親的墓穴裡。

我再降旨，若有人更改這諭旨，必從他的房屋抽掉一根大樑，把他釘在樑上掛起來，他的房屋也要淪為糞堆。

「如果有人犯了死罪，屍體被掛在木頭上，

「後來，他們求上帝為他們立一位王，上帝就選立便雅憫支派中基士的兒子掃羅為王，執政四十年。

卻處死了膳食總管，正應驗了約瑟的話。
