王因为曾与扫罗的儿子约拿单指着耶和华起誓结盟，就爱惜扫罗的孙子、约拿单的儿子米非波设，不交出来，

王顾惜扫罗的孙子，约拿单的儿子米非波设，因为在大卫和扫罗的儿子约拿单之间，有指着耶和华的誓言。

大卫王因为与扫罗的儿子约拿单在耶和华面前起过誓，就没有把扫罗的孙子、约拿单的儿子米非波设交出来。

The king spared Mephibosheth son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, because of the oath before the Lord between David and Jonathan son of Saul.

厥後耶和華殲大衛諸敵於地時、亦勿絕爾仁慈於我家、歷世靡暨、

二人乃於耶和華前立約、大衛居林、約拿單歸其家、

昔爾使僕指耶和華、與爾盟約、故當以仁慈待我、如我有罪、爾自殺我、何攜我詣爾父乎、

約拿單與大衛結約、愛之如命故也、

掃羅子約拿單有一子名米非波設、跛者也、昔掃羅及約拿單之音耗、自耶斯列傳至時、子方五歲、媼抱之而遁、疾趨、子墜致跛、○

約拿單謂大衛曰、安然而去、我儕二人曾指耶和華名而誓、願耶和華在爾我間、及爾我後裔中、至於永世、大衛遂起而往、約拿單入於邑、

爾與爾子爾僕、必為之耕田、納其所產、使爾主之子有糧可食、惟爾主之子米非波設、必恆食於我席、洗巴有子十五人、僕二十人、

約拿單愛大衛、如愛己命、故使之復誓、

王曰、米非波設所有者、咸歸於爾、洗巴曰、我跪拜、願蒙恩於我主我王之前、○

至耶路撒冷迎王、王曰、米非波設、不與我同行、曷故、

大衛曰、毋懼、我緣爾父約拿單故、必施仁慈於爾、以爾祖掃羅之田、悉反於爾、爾可恆食於我席、
