押尼珥回到了希伯崙，約押就拉他到城門的甕洞裡與他密談。約押就在那裡刺透他的肚子，他就死了。這樣，他替自己的兄弟亞撒黑報了血仇。

可以在他們面前出入；帶領他們出入，免得耶和華的會眾好像沒有牧人的羊一樣。”

法利賽人說：“連你們也受了欺騙嗎？

亞捫人的眾領袖對他們的主哈嫩說：“大衛差派這些慰問的人到你這裡來，你以為他是尊敬你父親嗎？他派遣臣僕到你這裡來，不是為了要窺探這城，偵察清楚，然後把城傾覆嗎？”

群眾因他紛紛議論，有的說：“他是好人。”有的說：“不，他是欺騙眾人的。”

你出你入，耶和華要保護你，從現在直到永遠。

直到我來帶你們到一個像你們國家的地方，那地方有五穀新酒，糧食和葡萄園，橄欖樹和蜂蜜，你們必可以活著，不會死亡。不要聽從希西家，因為他誤導你們說：耶和華必解救我們。

你們可以派你們中間一個人回去，把你們的弟弟帶來；其餘的人都要囚禁起來，好證明你們的話真實不真實。如果不真實，我指著法老的性命起誓，你們就是間諜。”

約瑟想起從前所作關於他們的兩個夢，就對他們說：“你們是間諜，是來偵察本地的虛實。”

約瑟對他們說：“不是的，你們實在是來偵察本地的虛實。”

你這判斷人的啊！無論你是誰，都沒有辦法推諉。你在甚麼事上判斷人，就在甚麼事上定自己的罪；因為你所作的，正是你所判斷的事。
