One afternoon about three o’clock, he had a vision in which he saw an angel of God coming toward him.“ Cornelius!” the angel said.

So Peter invited the men to stay for the night. The next day he went with them, accompanied by some of the brothers from Joppa.They arrived in Caesarea the following day. Cornelius was waiting for them and had called together his relatives and close friends.

As they strained to see him rising into heaven, two white robed men suddenly stood among them.

I went on praying and confessing my sin and the sin of my people, pleading with the Lord my God for Jerusalem, his holy mountain.As I was praying, Gabriel, whom I had seen in the earlier vision, came swiftly to me at the time of the evening sacrifice.

Then all who trembled at the words of the God of Israel came and sat with me because of this outrage committed by the returned exiles. As soon as the angel was gone, Cornelius called two of his household servants and a devout soldier, one of his personal attendants.He told them what had happened and sent them off to Joppa.The next day as Cornelius’s messengers were nearing the town, Peter went up on the flat roof to pray. It was about noon,

His face shone like lightning, and his clothing was as white as snow.

On October 31 the people assembled again, and this time they fasted and dressed in burlap and sprinkled dust on their heads.Those of Israelite descent separated themselves from all foreigners as they confessed their own sins and the sins of their ancestors.They remained standing in place for three hours while the Book of the Law of the Lord their God was read aloud to them. Then for three more hours they confessed their sins and worshiped the Lord their God.

but the angel said,“ Don’t be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead! Look, this is where they laid his body.

Peter and John went to the Temple one afternoon to take part in the three o’clock prayer service.

As they stood there puzzled, two men suddenly appeared to them, clothed in dazzling robes.
