一听到这些，我便撕裂衣服和外袍，拔掉头发和胡须，惊惧地坐下。听了以色列上帝的话而战抖的人都聚集在我周围，因为流亡归来的人不忠。我惊惧地坐在那里，直到献晚祭的时候。献晚祭的时候，我满怀忧伤地起来，穿着那撕裂的衣服和外袍，双膝跪下，向我的上帝耶和华伸出双手，

城里的居民分成了两派，有些附和犹太人，有些支持使徒。

难道我们没有权利像主的兄弟、彼得和其他使徒一样，娶信主的姊妹为妻，一同出入吗？难道只有我和巴拿巴要自食其力吗？

大祭司便撕裂衣服，说：“我们还需要什么证人呢？

以色列王读完信后，就撕裂衣服说：“难道我是上帝吗？我能操纵人的生死吗？这人竟叫我医好一个人的麻风病！他只是想找借口攻打我。”
