有几个人从犹太下来，教导弟兄们说：“你们若不照摩西的规例受割礼，就不能得救。”

我第八天受割礼，属于以色列民族便雅悯支派，是希伯来人所生的希伯来人。按着律法来说，我是个法利赛人；按着热诚来说，我是迫害教会的；按着律法上的义来说，我是无可指摘的。然而以前对我有益的，现在因着基督的缘故，我都当作是有损的。不但这样，我也把万事当作是有损的，因为我以认识我主基督耶稣为至宝。为了他，我把万事都抛弃了，看作废物，为了要得着基督。

我们听说有人从我们这里出去，说了一些话搅扰你们，使你们心里不安，其实我们并没有吩咐他们。

基督释放了我们，为了要使我们得自由。所以你们要站立得稳，不要再被奴役的轭控制。我保罗现在告诉你们，如果你们受割礼，基督对你们就毫无益处了。我再对所有受割礼的人郑重声明：他有责任遵行全部的律法。

如果他们肯作证的话，他们是早就知道，我是按着我们祖宗最严格的教派，过着法利赛人的生活。现在我站着受审，是为了对神向我们祖先的应许存着盼望。

我们看这个人就像瘟疫一样，是煽动普天下犹太人生乱的人，又是拿撒勒派的首领。

他们听了，就赞美神，对保罗说：“弟兄，你看，犹太人中信主的有好几万，都是对律法很热心的人。
