因要知道他们告他的缘故，我就带他下到他们的公会去，

于是千夫长上前拿住他，吩咐用两条铁链捆锁；又问他是什么人，做的是什么事。

只是我告诉你们，凡向弟兄动怒的，难免受审判；凡骂弟兄是拉加的，难免公会的审判；凡骂弟兄是魔利的，难免地狱的火。

你们要防备人；因为他们要把你们交给公会，也要在会堂里鞭打你们，

使徒听了这话，天将亮的时候就进殿里去教训人。大祭司和他的同人来了，叫齐公会的人和以色列族的众长老，就差人到监里去，要把使徒提出来。

保罗说：“无论是少劝是多劝，我向神所求的，不但你一个人，就是今天一切听我的，都要像我一样，只是不要像我有这些锁链。”

就把他捆绑，解去，交给巡抚彼拉多。

到了我们这里，就拿保罗的腰带捆上自己的手脚，说：“圣灵说：犹太人在耶路撒冷，要如此捆绑这腰带的主人，把他交在外邦人手里。”

现在你们和公会要知会千夫长，叫他带下保罗到你们这里来，假作要详细察考他的事；我们已经预备好了，不等他来到跟前就杀他。”

这是大祭司和众长老都可以给我作见证的。我又领了他们达与弟兄的书信，往大马士革去，要把在那里奉这道的人锁拿，带到耶路撒冷受刑。”
