耶稣进了殿，正教训人的时候，祭司长和民间的长老来问他说：“你仗着什么权柄做这些事？给你这权柄的是谁呢？”

公会的人听从了他，便叫使徒来，把他们打了，又吩咐他们不可奉耶稣的名讲道，就把他们释放了。

那人说：“谁立你作我们的首领和审判官呢？难道你要杀我，像杀那埃及人吗？”摩西便惧怕，说：“这事必是被人知道了。”

因此犹太人问他说：“你既做这些事，还显什么神迹给我们看呢？”

他们听见这话，就从老到少，一个一个地都出去了，只剩下耶稣一人，还有那妇人仍然站在当中。

文士和法利赛人带着一个行淫时被拿的妇人来，叫她站在当中，

宣告禁食，叫拿伯坐在民间的高位上。有两个匪徒来，坐在拿伯的对面，当着众民作见证告他说：“拿伯谤渎神和王了！”众人就把他拉到城外，用石头打死。于是打发人去见耶洗别，说：“拿伯被石头打死了。”
