Saying,‘ When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell grain? And the Sabbath, that we may market wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel large, and dealing falsely with balances of deceit;

你们盼望朔日和安息日快点过去，你们好售卖谷物。你们用小升斗卖粮，用加重的砝码收银子，用假秤骗人。

你们说：“月朔什么时候过去，好让我们可以卖五谷；安息日什么时候结束，好让我们可以开市卖谷物。我们卖东西就把升斗弄小，收银子却用加重了的法码，我们要用假秤欺骗人。

你們說：月朔幾時過去，我們好賣糧；安息日幾時過去，我們好擺開麥子；賣出用小升斗，收銀用大戥子，用詭詐的天平欺哄人，

你們說：「初一幾時過去，我們好賣糧；安息日幾時過去，我們好擺開穀物；我們要把伊法變小，把舍客勒變大，以詭詐的天平欺哄人，

你們盼望朔日和安息日快點過去，你們好售賣穀物。你們用小升斗賣糧，用加重的法碼收銀子，用假秤騙人。

爾曰、月朔何時過、俾我儕糶穀、安息何時過、俾我儕鬻麥、小其伊法、大其舍客勒、以欺誑之衡詐人、

爾常言月朔安息日、何不速過、則可糶穀市麥、升斗則欲其小、權衡則欲其重、以是欺人、

爾嘗言、月朔何時過、則可糶穀、安息日何時過、則可開倉、量穀用小伊法、收銀欲大舍客勒、以不公之權衡欺人、

saying,“ When will the New Moon be over that we may sell grain, and the Sabbath be ended that we may market wheat?”— skimping on the measure, boosting the price and cheating with dishonest scales,

You say,“ When will the New Moon feast be over? Then we can sell our grain. When will the Sabbath day come to an end? Then people can buy our wheat.” But you measure out less than the right amount. You raise your prices. You cheat others by using dishonest scales.

saying,“ When will the new moon be over, that we may sell grain? And the Sabbath, that we may offer wheat for sale, that we may make the ephah small and the shekel great and deal deceitfully with false balances,

You can’t wait for the Sabbath day to be over and the religious festivals to end so you can get back to cheating the helpless. You measure out grain with dishonest measures and cheat the buyer with dishonest scales.

asking,“ When will the New Moon be over so we may sell grain, and the Sabbath, so we may market wheat? We can reduce the measure while increasing the price and cheat with dishonest scales.

saying,“ When will the new moon be over, So that we may sell grain; And the Sabbath, so that we may open the wheat market, To make the ephah smaller and the shekel bigger, And to cheat with dishonest scales,

Saying:“ When will the New Moon be past, That we may sell grain? And the Sabbath, That we may trade wheat? Making the ephah small and the shekel large, Falsifying the scales by deceit,

saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell grain? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and dealing falsely with balances of deceit;

asking,“ When will the New Moon be over so we may sell grain, and the Sabbath, so we may market wheat? We can reduce the measure while increasing the price and cheat with dishonest scales.

Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit?

You say,“ When will the new moon festival be over, so we can sell grain? When will the Sabbath end, so we can open up the grain bins? We’re eager to sell less for a higher price, and to cheat the buyer with rigged scales!

Are there yet treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and a short ephah that is accursed?Shall I be pure with dishonest scales, and with a bag of deceitful weights?

A merchant has dishonest scales in his hand. He loves to defraud.

He said,“ Why would you want go to him today? It is not a new moon or a Sabbath.” She said,“ It’s all right.”

In those days I saw some men treading wine presses on the Sabbath in Judah, bringing in sheaves, and loading donkeys; also with wine, grapes, figs, and all kinds of burdens, which they brought into Jerusalem on the Sabbath day; and I testified against them in the day in which they sold food.Some men of Tyre also lived there, who brought in fish and all kinds of wares, and sold on the Sabbath to the children of Judah, and in Jerusalem.Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said to them,“ What evil thing is this that you do, and profane the Sabbath day?Didn’t your fathers do this, and didn’t our God bring all this evil on us, and on this city? Yet you bring more wrath on Israel by profaning the Sabbath.”It came to pass that when the gates of Jerusalem began to be dark before the Sabbath, I commanded that the doors should be shut, and commanded that they should not be opened until after the Sabbath. I set some of my servants over the gates, so that no burden should be brought in on the Sabbath day.So the merchants and sellers of all kinds of wares camped outside of Jerusalem once or twice.Then I testified against them, and said to them,“ Why do you stay around the wall? If you do so again, I will lay hands on you.” From that time on, they didn’t come on the Sabbath.

You shall not have in your bag diverse weights, one heavy and one light.You shall not have in your house diverse measures, one large and one small.You shall have a perfect and just weight. You shall have a perfect and just measure, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you.For all who do such things, all who do unrighteously, are an abomination to Yahweh your God.

“‘ In the beginnings of your months, you shall offer a burnt offering to Yahweh: two young bulls, one ram, seven male lambs a year old without defect,and three tenths of an ephah of fine flour for a meal offering mixed with oil, for each bull; and two tenth parts of fine flour for a meal offering mixed with oil, for the one ram;and one tenth part of fine flour mixed with oil for a meal offering to every lamb, as a burnt offering of a pleasant aroma, an offering made by fire to Yahweh.Their drink offerings shall be half a hin of wine for a bull, the third part of a hin for the ram, and the fourth part of a hin for a lamb. This is the burnt offering of every month throughout the months of the year.Also, one male goat for a sin offering to Yahweh shall be offered in addition to the continual burnt offering and its drink offering.

“ You shall have just balances, a just ephah, and a just bath.The ephah and the bath shall be of one measure, that the bath may contain one tenth of a homer, and the ephah one tenth of a homer. Its measure shall be the same as the homer.The shekel shall be twenty gerahs. Twenty shekels plus twenty- five shekels plus fifteen shekels shall be your mina.

“ Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.You shall labor six days, and do all your work,but the seventh day is a Sabbath to Yahweh your God. You shall not do any work in it, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your livestock, nor your stranger who is within your gates;

A false balance is an abomination to Yahweh, but accurate weights are his delight.

Let no one therefore judge you in eating, or in drinking, or with respect to a feast day or a new moon or a Sabbath day,

Honest balances and scales are Yahweh’s; all the weights in the bag are his work.

You say also,‘ Behold, what a weariness it is!’ and you have sniffed at it”, says Yahweh of Armies;“ and you have brought that which was taken by violence, the lame, and the sick; thus you bring the offering. Should I accept this at your hand?” says Yahweh.

Blow the trumpet at the New Moon, at the full moon, on our feast day.For it is a statute for Israel, an ordinance of the God of Jacob.

Yahweh detests differing weights, and dishonest scales are not pleasing.

“ If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on my holy day; and call the Sabbath a delight, and the holy of Yahweh honorable; and honor it, not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words,

You shall have just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin. I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.

For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace;because the mind of the flesh is hostile toward God; for it is not subject to God’s law, neither indeed can it be.

Bring no more vain offerings. Incense is an abomination to me. New moons, Sabbaths, and convocations: I can’t stand evil assemblies.

“ Also in the day of your gladness, and in your set feasts, and in the beginnings of your months, you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; and they shall be to you for a memorial before your God. I am Yahweh your God.”
