Then Gideon said to him,“ O my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying,‘ Did the Lord not bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the Lord has abandoned us and handed us over to Midian.”

But as for me, I heard but did not understand; so I said,“ My lord, what will be the outcome of these events?”

He said,“ No; rather I have come now as captain of the army of the Lord.” And Joshua fell on his face to the ground, and bowed down, and said to him,“ What has my lord to say to his servant?”

For how can such a servant of my lord talk with such as my lord? As for me, there remains just now no strength in me, nor has any breath been left in me.”Then this one with human appearance touched me again and strengthened me.

while I was still speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision previously, came to me in my extreme weariness about the time of the evening offering.

So I was left alone and saw this great vision; yet no strength was left in me, for my complexion turned to a deathly pallor, and I retained no strength.But I heard the sound of his words; and as soon as I heard the sound of his words, I fell into a deep sleep on my face, with my face to the ground.Then behold, a hand touched me and shook me on my hands and knees.

for I will provide you eloquence and wisdom which none of your adversaries will be able to oppose or refute.
