He urged them to plead for mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that he and his friends might not be executed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.

He asked them to pray that the God of heaven would give him mercy. He wanted God to help him understand the mystery of the king’s dream. Then he and his friends wouldn’t be killed along with Babylon’s other wise men.

What if there will lack five of the fifty righteous? Will you destroy all the city for lack of five?” He said,“ I will not destroy it if I find forty- five there.”

David said,“ Yahweh who delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine.” Saul said to David,“ Go! Yahweh will be with you.”

Then you shall return and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him who serves God and him who doesn’t serve him.

It may be Yahweh your God will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master has sent to defy the living God, and will rebuke the words which Yahweh your God has heard. Therefore lift up your prayer for the remnant that is left.’”

But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the Gentiles might hear. So I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me for his heavenly Kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Then Esther asked them to answer Mordecai,“ Go, gather together all the Jews who are present in Susa, and fast for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day. I and my maidens will also fast the same way. Then I will go in to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish.”So Mordecai went his way, and did according to all that Esther had commanded him.

“ What do you think? If a man has one hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, doesn’t he leave the ninety- nine, go to the mountains, and seek that which has gone astray?

They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

Now I beg you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in your prayers to God for me,

Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding.In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
