我使以撒生雅各、以掃、以西耳山錫以掃為業、惟雅各與子孫往埃及。

以掃居西耳山、為以東族人之祖、其裔如左、

當驅逐爾、不與人偕居、而與獸錯處、嚙蒭若牛、以待七年之屆、俾知至上者、操權於寰區、隨意昇降、

至高者使四方之民得業、俾亞當後裔散處、則定異邦民之郊址、循以色列族之核數。

人將驅逐我主我王、不復與人偕處、乃與獸同居、俾爾嚙蒭、無異於牛、為露所侵、待及七年、使知至上者、操寰區之柄、以國畀人、悉隨其意、

主造萬國、本於一脈、地以居之、時以定之、界以限之、

我耶和華、以巨能大力、肇造寰宇、以及庶民百獸、以地錫人、惟我所欲。

昔以色列族、出埃及時、謹守爾命、過亞捫摩押、西耳之地、不侵伐之、不翦滅之、今彼以惡報我、欲行驅逐、出爾所錫之地。願上帝為我一洒之、彼眾我實不能禦、如何則可、惟爾是望。

當此之時、上帝未嘗以尺土賜之、然以此地許彼為業、爰及苗裔、時、亞伯拉罕尚未有子也、
