At midday you will grope about like a blind person in the dark. You will be unsuccessful in everything you do; day after day you will be oppressed and robbed, with no one to rescue you.

Even at noon you will have to feel your way around like a blind person in the dark. You won’t have success in anything you do. Day after day you will be robbed and treated badly. No one will be able to save you.

and you shall grope at noonday, as the blind grope in darkness, and you shall not prosper in your ways. And you shall be only oppressed and robbed continually, and there shall be no one to help you.

You will grope around in broad daylight like a blind person groping in the darkness, but you will not find your way. You will be oppressed and robbed continually, and no one will come to save you.

以色列人居約但東、屬基列之亞摩利地者、自是受其擾害暴虐、歷十八年、

於是耶和華忿怒其民、厭惡己業兮、付於異邦之手、憾之者制之兮、厥敵虐之、俾服其手下兮、

因我之罪、爾使列王轄我、彼得豐盛物產於斯土、操權於我躬、及我牲畜、任意而為、我之艱苦甚鉅、

儻我福音有蔽、惟蔽於淪亡者、斯世之靈、盲其中不信者之心、使基督有榮之福音、光不之照、夫基督上帝像也、

我必加苦於人、使其行走同於瞽者、以其獲罪於耶和華、其血傾如塵埃、其肉棄如糞土、

兄弟乎、我不欲爾不知斯奧、恐爾自以為智、即以色列間有頑者、以待異邦人之盈數歸入焉、

其目昏眊不見、其腰戰慄不已兮、爾以恚忿傾之、以烈怒迫之兮、

時、以色列全地無有鐵工、蓋非利士人曰、恐希伯來人製作劍戟也、以色列人欲利其耒耜斧钁、則詣非利士人所、惟有銼、以削其钁耜鍤斧、並利其錣、故臨戰時、從掃羅與約拿單之民、手無劍戟、惟掃羅與約拿單有之、

非利士人集、欲與以色列族戰、率車三萬、騎兵六千、民眾如海沙之多、至伯亞文東之密抹建營、以色列民見事危急、窘迫特甚、則匿於山洞、叢林巖穴、營窟坎阱、亦有希伯來人濟約但、至迦得與基列地、掃羅仍在吉甲、民戰慄而從之、

若輩無光、暗中摸索、以致蹁躚若醉、

惟彼弗順、叛逆乎爾、背爾法律、爾之先知勸令歸爾、彼乃殺之、大干震怒、故爾付於敵手、而困苦之、窘迫之時、彼呼籲爾、爾則自天垂聽、依爾鴻慈、賜以救者、拯之於敵手、既享綏安、彼復行爾所惡、爾則遺之於敵手、使轄制之、迨其轉而籲爾、爾仍自天垂聽、依爾慈惠、屢施救援、加以警戒、使服爾律、惟彼驕矜、不從爾命、爾之律例、人遵之則得生、彼乃犯之、強項背逆、不肯聽從、

然則何耶、以色列所求未得、惟蒙選者得之、餘則頑耳、如經云、上帝賦之以昏昧之心、目不見、耳不聞、至於今日、大衛曰、令其筵為絆、為檻、為礙、為報、其目矇而不見、其背終於傴僂、

僕隸制我、無人拯我於其手兮、

爾攜之、與之同潔、代為捐費、俾得薙髮、如此、則眾知前所聞者皆虛、而爾自守律而行也、

緣此我心疲憊、我目矇昧兮、
