那是黑暗、阴森的日子，是密云、乌黑的日子，如同黎明笼罩山岭。有一队蝗虫，又大又强，自古以来没有像这样的，以后直到万代也必没有。它们前面有火吞噬，后面有火焰烧尽。它们未到以前，地如伊甸园，过去以后，却成了荒凉的旷野，没有一样能躲避它们。它们形状如马，奔跑如战马。

因你忘记拯救你的上帝，忘记那保护你的磐石；所以，你虽栽上佳美的树苗，插上别样的枝子，栽种的日子，你使它生长，栽种的早晨，你使它开花，但在愁苦、极其伤痛的日子，所收割的都归无有。

次日黎明，上帝却安排一条虫来咬这蓖麻，以致枯干。
