I feared the anger and wrath of the Lord, for he was angry enough with you to destroy you. But again the Lord listened to me.

I was afraid of the Lord’ s great anger. He was so angry with you he wanted to destroy you. But the Lord listened to me again.

For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure that the Lord bore against you, so that he was ready to destroy you. But the Lord listened to me that time also.

I feared that the furious anger of the Lord, which turned him against you, would drive him to destroy you. But again he listened to me.

你不要阻止我，我要向他们发烈怒，毁灭他们。我要使你的后代成为大国。”摩西恳求他的上帝耶和华说：“耶和华啊，你为什么要向你的子民发烈怒呢？这些子民是你亲自用神迹和大能从埃及领出来的。

祂的祭司中有摩西和亚伦，呼求祂的人中有撒母耳。他们求告耶和华，祂就应允他们。

耶和华回答说：“我答应你的请求，因为你在我面前蒙了恩，我凭名字认识你。”

蝗虫吃尽地上的青苗时，我说：“主耶和华啊，求你赦免！雅各那么弱小，他怎么受得了呢？”于是，耶和华心生怜悯，说：“我不降这灾了。”

从犹大来了我的一个兄弟哈拿尼和一些人，我问他们有关从流亡之地归回的犹太余民和耶路撒冷的情况。他们回答说：“那些从流亡之地归回犹大省的人深陷苦难，饱受凌辱。耶路撒冷的城墙已经倒塌，城门也被烧毁。”我一听见这消息，就坐下痛哭，悲伤了好几天。我在天上的上帝面前禁食祷告，说：“天上的上帝耶和华啊，你是伟大而可畏的上帝，你向爱你、守你诫命的人守约，施慈爱。仆人在你面前昼夜为你的众仆人以色列民祈祷，求你睁眼察看，侧耳倾听。我承认以色列人向你所犯的罪，以及我和我的家族所犯的罪。我们行事败坏，没有遵守你赐给你仆人摩西的诫命、律例和典章。

那时，我说：“主耶和华啊，求你停止吧！雅各那么弱小，他怎么受得了呢？”于是，耶和华心生怜悯，说：“我也不降这灾了。”

“朋友们，我告诉你们，不要惧怕那些杀害人的身体后再也无计可施的人。我告诉你们应该惧怕谁，要惧怕上帝——祂有权终结人的生命，并把人丢在地狱里。是的，我告诉你们，要惧怕祂！

因此祂说要消灭他们。若不是祂所拣选的摩西为他们求情，祂早已在烈怒中毁灭了他们。

在何烈山，你们触怒了耶和华，以致祂要毁灭你们。
