And it came to pass after these things, that[ one] told Joseph, Behold, thy father[ is] sick: and he took with him his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim.And[ one] told Jacob, and said, Behold, thy son Joseph cometh unto thee: and Israel strengthened himself, and sat upon the bed.And Jacob said unto Joseph, God Almighty appeared unto me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and blessed me,And said unto me, Behold, I will make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, and I will make of thee a multitude of people; and will give this land to thy seed after thee[ for] an everlasting possession.And now thy two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, which were born unto thee in the land of Egypt before I came unto thee into Egypt,[ are] mine; as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine.And thy issue, which thou begettest after them, shall be thine,[ and] shall be called after the name of their brethren in their inheritance.And as for me, when I came from Padan, Rachel died by me in the land of Canaan in the way, when yet[ there was] but a little way to come unto Ephrath: and I buried her there in the way of Ephrath; the same[ is] Bethlehem.And Israel beheld Joseph’s sons, and said, Who[ are] these?And Joseph said unto his father, They[ are] my sons, whom God hath given me in this[ place]. And he said, Bring them, I pray thee, unto me, and I will bless them.Now the eyes of Israel were dim for age,[ so that] he could not see. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

For the time past of[ our] life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with[ them] to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of[ you]:

But when Herod’s birthday was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them, and pleased Herod.Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatsoever she would ask.And she, being before instructed of her mother, said, Give me here John Baptist’s head in a charger.And the king was sorry: nevertheless for the oath’s sake, and them which sat with him at meat, he commanded[ it] to be given[ her].And he sent, and beheaded John in the prison.And his head was brought in a charger, and given to the damsel: and she brought[ it] to her mother.And his disciples came, and took up the body, and buried it, and went and told Jesus.

And his sons went and feasted[ in their] houses, every one his day; and sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them.And it was so, when the days of[ their] feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings[ according] to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.

What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things[ is] death.But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

Blessed[ are] they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

And thou saidst, I shall be a lady for ever:[ so] that thou didst not lay these[ things] to thy heart, neither didst remember the latter end of it.
