“ Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath,

不要因生氣而犯罪，不要到日落時還怒氣未消，

你們發怒，別犯罪了；別在日頭落時還在激怒了；

怒勿干罪、勿銜怒至日落、

怒不可過、勿藏怒至日沒時、

即偶有所怒、亦當勉自克制、慎毋犯罪。切勿銜怒終日、

“ In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,

Scripture says,“ When you are angry, do not sin.”( Psalm 4:4) Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry.

Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger,

And“ don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry,

“ Be angry, and don’t sin.” Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath,

So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath;

Be angry, and do not sin. Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still. Selah

Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret— it only causes harm.

Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

Do not hasten in your spirit to be angry, For anger rests in the bosom of fools.

He who is slow to wrath has great understanding, But he who is impulsive exalts folly.

Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written,“ Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.Therefore“ If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.”Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger, And his glory is to overlook a transgression.

But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother,‘ Raca!’ shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says,‘ You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire.

And Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly together before the rock; and he said to them,“ Hear now, you rebels! Must we bring water for you out of this rock?”Then Moses lifted his hand and struck the rock twice with his rod; and water came out abundantly, and the congregation and their animals drank.Then the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron,“ Because you did not believe Me, to hallow Me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.”This was the water of Meribah, because the children of Israel contended with the Lord, and He was hallowed among them.

“ Aaron shall be gathered to his people, for he shall not enter the land which I have given to the children of Israel, because you rebelled against My word at the water of Meribah.

And all these your servants shall come down to me and bow down to me, saying,‘ Get out, and all the people who follow you!’ After that I will go out.” Then he went out from Pharaoh in great anger.

Then Phinehas stood up and intervened, And the plague was stopped.And that was accounted to him for righteousness To all generations forevermore.They angered Him also at the waters of strife, So that it went ill with Moses on account of them;Because they rebelled against His Spirit, So that he spoke rashly with his lips.

And when He had looked around at them with anger, being grieved by the hardness of their hearts, He said to the man,“ Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored as whole as the other.

And Moses said to Aaron,“ What did this people do to you that you have brought so great a sin upon them?”So Aaron said,“ Do not let the anger of my Lord become hot. You know the people, that they are set on evil.

But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them,“ Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.

And I became very angry when I heard their outcry and these words.After serious thought, I rebuked the nobles and rulers, and said to them,“ Each of you is exacting usury from his brother.” So I called a great assembly against them.And I said to them,“ According to our ability we have redeemed our Jewish brethren who were sold to the nations. Now indeed, will you even sell your brethren? Or should they be sold to us?” Then they were silenced and found nothing to say.Then I said,“ What you are doing is not good. Should you not walk in the fear of our God because of the reproach of the nations, our enemies?I also, with my brethren and my servants, am lending them money and grain. Please, let us stop this usury!Restore now to them, even this day, their lands, their vineyards, their olive groves, and their houses, also a hundredth of the money and the grain, the new wine and the oil, that you have charged them.”So they said,“ We will restore it, and will require nothing from them; we will do as you say.” Then I called the priests, and required an oath from them that they would do according to this promise.Then I shook out the fold of my garment and said,“ So may God shake out each man from his house, and from his property, who does not perform this promise. Even thus may he be shaken out and emptied.” And all the assembly said,“ Amen!” and praised the Lord. Then the people did according to this promise.

Now when Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose from among the congregation and took a javelin in his hand;and he went after the man of Israel into the tent and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her body. So the plague was stopped among the children of Israel.And those who died in the plague were twenty-four thousand.Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:“ Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned back My wrath from the children of Israel, because he was zealous with My zeal among them, so that I did not consume the children of Israel in My zeal.

The north wind brings forth rain, And a backbiting tongue an angry countenance.

Each day you shall give him his wages, and not let the sun go down on it, for he is poor and has set his heart on it; lest he cry out against you to the Lord, and it be sin to you.
